Jerry Rice retires! (merged)

Wow, that's pretty cool that he took up a roster spot in Denver all pre season long, and then waited until after the 53 man cuts to decide he didn't want to play anymore.
 
ahhh who cares he sucks anyways, he was having a hard time making any team....

That's terrible, i'm sure Jerry Rice can still get a job as a WR on some teams. He's a great guy, a great WR and watching him as a fan of the opposing team for 20 years, i'm going to miss him very much. There will NEVER be another.....
 
As good as Jerry Rice was, you got to believe he played about 3 seasons too long. He is the greatest receiver of all-time, no argument there, but these last few years have been hard to watch.

Today is a sad yet memorable day in football... Jerry Rice, the greatest to ever play the game, it's going to be tough to move on with you. Thanks for all the memories Jerry, I wish you the best on your retirement. Goodbye Jerry, I'll miss you.
 
Not much you can say. He was the best WR and maybe best player ever. He busted his *** to get to the top and stayed there for longer than anyone. A great player and from what I have seen a great person.
