Sweet...........but i think he would have started with the Cardinals too.....lol

"contact" and "want" are 2 different things. I'm not sure if we offered him a contract or not, I would have been happy to have him as a backup and I think he's perfect as a temp starter until Tannehil is ready for you guys. If Garrard is healthy he is a solid QB.

Yeah but the other teams wanted him to be a backup......

we got him to compete and start.....not the same thing.

he went where he had the opportunity to compete for the starting job...i doubt miami offered him more money...maybe that $1 mil guaranteed he might not have gotten elsewhere...would have been a backup everywhere else given kolbs contract...zonas the only maybe on that list

I would like to say this makes me feel better that we brought him in, but frankly I already thought highly of Garrard...plus that would give the Jest too much credit.

It was the Jets, who wanted insurance for Mark Sanchez.
;)

I agree though, who knows if the Jets offered a contract or not. He isn't a gimmick/role player like Tebow will be, but when Sanchez struggles, and he will, Garrard would have been a better option to start than Tebow.

The bigger point is that Garrard was drawing interest from at least six teams during the offseason before Miami signed him. The perception was out there that Miami signed him when no other team was interested.

Says Ryan Clark of the Steelers.

"wanted" insurance, not "wanted" Garrard- at least according to that blurb you posted. They definitetly went into this offseason looking to upgrade the backup QB.

I didn't sense that perception about no one wanting him, I think it had to do w/ his health. If health he can play.

Well I'm glad they didn't get him. The Sanchez/Tebow train wreck is going to be way too fun watching from afar.

Angsty emo vampire versus shirtless werewolf, locked in eternal struggle. #TeamSanchez vs #TeamTebow

as long as you enjoy watching us win. Come on CK, you are smart enough to realize there isn't a QB controversy or competition.
