Jets wanted Garrard, he chose Miami

I actually don't disapprove AT ALL with their approach with Tebow in the red zone. How many years have I been jumping on this message board now and suggesting exactly that? It has to be over a year. Ever since Tebow's rookie year when I saw how Josh McDaniels used him in the red zone.

But that's in theory. The reality could be a little different because Mark Sanchez is a WEAK starter in a venomous town, and now you're about to eat into the one thing that Sanchez can still hang his hat on...his touchdowns.

That's all I hear from the people that still have faith in Sanchez. The man scored 32 touchdowns in 2011. Well guess what. You stick Tim Tebow in there for all of Sanchez' tight red zone work and suddenly Mark Sanchez is 294 of 509 for 3386 yards, 14 TDs and 17 INTs, with 37 sacks, 8 lost fumbles and 0 rushing touchdowns.

How d'ya think the Big Apple will swallow THAT from their supposed franchise quarterback? Will they care that Tim Tebow hawked all those touchdowns? Hell no. They'll use it as a reason Tebow should be the full time starter. Look at all the touchdowns he scores, after all.

I'm just hoping this catastrophe takes two more years to fully run its course before they wise up.

that's a good point...

I have always like David Garrard. Should be interesting.

Sanchez had a much better year in 2010 and only accounted for 20 TDs. It's not about Tds it's about making plays to win games, he did much more of that in '10 than '11.

Whether Tebow was here or not if Mark has a bad stretch the fans will go nuts w/ the way last season ended. That's life as a QB for one of the current high profile teams in the league. if he can't handle it he shouldn't be starting but based on 3 years of work I think he'll handle it just fine.

Good thing he's not known for letting negativity result in him getting in poutry, scared moods that affect his performance. ;)

Haha, he doesn't have the best body language but he had always overcome poor performances until the stretch to end 2011. I expect him to overcome last years bad year, maybe it's wishful thinking? but i'm confident.

This has to be my biggest pet peeve. Hopefully we don't have any of these on the Fins this year. Nothing worse than your QB acting like a Russian gymnast that just fell off the balance beam.

I still think you start shaving off his touchdowns and giving them to someone else...I mean it's not like the mistakes and boneheaded throws are going to go away, but suddenly they'll outweigh the touchdowns everyone wants to see, or at least be a bigger mix. There's a human element involved in this, perception becomes reality. And I sense the city really, really wants to embrace Tebow.

I think the biggest key for him is cutting down on the TOs, if he does that and TDs go down while tebow scores TDs I think we'll be winning a lot of games and everyone will be happy.

I don't sense that at all, I am not sure I have met a Jet fan that likes Tebow(on the field). Tebow has not really been embraced here yet.

It seems like not many are considering the potential synergistic aspects of this whole thing. Tebow is a winner and a consumate team player. Sanchez has one hell of an arm but is cut from the mold of Chad Henne in terms of being predisposed to field issued boners. If Sanchez can air it out and Tebow can help to close the deal in the red zone, the whole situation could work out beautifully. I'm not buying into all of this media crap, media sensation. Watch ESPN- how many hours a day are they devoting to this? They're beating it to a pulp- how much is real and how much is for ratings of the hottest topic around? Tebow rises above shots from Esiason/Smith and is called out even for that, for not lashing out. New York has to win, bottom line. That goes for all teams obviously, but Rex Ryan's mouth and comments have laid an unfortunate legacy of expectations and pressure .

Tebow might HELP Sanchez, help to take the pressure off of him. Help him to relax, do what he does best and let Tebow do his thing, be a red zone terror. It might end up being the personnel move of the year, for all of a 4th rd pick, and the media sh****** all over it now doesn't alter my view on the situation one bit.

If you remember Tebow's freshman year, that offensive model produced a national championship, with Chris Leak (not even sniffed for the NFL) the starting traditional pocket QB, and Tebow finishing on the goal. If used correctly, it could be a tough offense to defend. But oh, yeah, Sparano's in charge... Better get the Jets PK on your fantasy teams. Fist pump.

That defense is was produced a national championship, not the offense. (In reference to that 2006 NC)

If Garrad would have gone to the JETS..........he would be the starter!
