Jets wanted Garrard, he chose Miami

Sancheese will be watching the last 3 games of the season from the bench as the NYJets try and figure out if Tebow can be their savior

"contact" and "want" are 2 different things. I'm not sure if we offered him a contract or not, I would have been happy to have him as a backup and I think he's perfect as a temp starter until Tannehil is ready for you guys. If Garrard is healthy he is a solid QB.

Well you don't contact free agents just to socialize, you guys contacted because you wanted...but instead got teblow, im sure garrard woulda outplayed sancheeze and been penciled in as starter after a slow start, but y'll will cover it up that marky suffered an injury. So basically its like this... Garrard>Moore>Insert other 15 other starting QB 's>Sancheeze>Gabbert>Ronnie Brown>Random HS QB>Teblow>Fullbacks , Now you wish you he woulda picked you guys huh? ;)

I'm smart enough to know a slow developing train wreck when I see one.

The crappy thing is (gasp) I don't think Rex Ryan is a bad coach at all. I think he'll learn from this experience, if he survives it.
I think the only thing that keeps this a "slow developing" train wreck is the preseason. I've predicted the same thing that you have CK. I truly feel sorry for Tim Tebow and even a little bit for Mark Sanchez. This is a very unfair/no-win situation that they're in. The first loser will get benched. The second loser will try to succeed with TS as the offensive coordinator. Likely they will both get whiplash from being pulled back and forth so often.

They had interest but interest and offering a contract are 2 different things. One of the goals was to upgrade the backup QB.

of course Garrard would be starting, every dolphin would start on the Jets.:rolleyes2:

;)

I agree though, who knows if the Jets offered a contract or not. He isn't a gimmick/role player like Tebow will be, but when Sanchez struggles, and he will, Garrard would have been a better option to start than Tebow.

Agreed. Stanford would have been a better backup than Tebow, too.

The bigger point is that Garrard was drawing interest from at least six teams during the offseason before Miami signed him. The perception was out there that Miami signed him when no other team was interested.

QBs who played competently as starters (like Garrard and Moore) are always in demand as backups. If they're willing to be backups, they can "play" into their 40s, go to the playoffs, and sometimes even get Super Bowl rings. They're always looking to get back to being starting QBs, however, and will frequently take less money to get that opportunity. Miami was that opportunity for Garrard.

Garrard = Duante Culpepper 2.0
Big risk coming off an injury that prevented him from throwing a single pass in 2011.
You can have him.

happy as a backup ? you know as well as all of us dolfans that if Garrard had went to the jets that he would have taken cheeseys job away from him in a heartbeat.

hopefully garrard pans out he did have some solid seasons for jax

obviously that wouldn't happen, he wouldn't have even competed for the job.

One day I want a woman to defend me as blindly as you defend Mark Sanchez. And to top it off, I won't abuse her nearly as much as he does you!

It's not blind it's based in reality. If Garrard thought he had a chance to start here he'd probably be here. He would not have been competing for the job just as Tebow isn't competing for the job.

Culpepper was traded for using a 2nd rd pick. Garrard signed a 1 year contract. The only similarity is the injury. Even if he gets hurt again, the consequences would be different that when DC was a Dolphin.

He would have likely competed to start in NYJ. And since he is beating out Moore, it is extremenly likely he would have beaten out Sanchez.
Yeah but the other teams wanted him to be a backup......

we got him to compete and start.....not the same thing.

He would not have competed to start here, not a chance.
