Jim Harbaugh - HC Discussion

Nothing wrong with khakis and a loud a Hawaiian shirt...go get him

Harbaugh also has a huge fan in Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, who is also a Michigan alumnus and one of the school's biggest boosters. His belief in Harbaugh is well known, he has wanted to hire him in the past, and if Harbaugh did leave Ann Arbor, league sources indicated he would be tempted to lure the former quarterback as well. Numerous league sources said Harbaugh's name came up within the Dolphins organization midseason when the team was enduring a seven-game losing streak, and although it rallied to win seven in a row, the team was pummeled by the Titans last week to end any playoff hope.

Ross has long coveted Harbaugh and, at this stage of his life with a succession plan for ownership already in place, passing on Harbaugh might be difficult. Harbaugh also played for the Bears and is well known at Halas Hall, with that franchise pondering sweeping changes and considering a multitude of former players for a multitude of roles.

I heard a Minnesota Vikings rumor for Harbaugh as well.

If Flores hadn't turned this ship around, I think Harbaugh would still be the first choice for Ross.

Impressive job in SF with Kapernick at quarterback and nearly winning a super bowl.

I've heard the West Coast is where he'd prefer to coach.
That was true when he picked the 49ers over the Dolphins but he was also coaching at Stanford at the time and taking the 49er’s job made perfect sense at the time. He didn’t have to even move out of his house to take the job.

The Raiders and Broncos are likely to be the two teams out west who will be looking for a new head coach. So if he does want to move back west, he will likely end up with one of these teams. The Raiders seem the most likely choice if Harbaugh feels like he can work with Mayock.

The Broncos have not yet said they will be looking to move on from Fangio but if they do, Harbaugh would certainly appear to be an upgrade.

Interesting that the team discussed hiring Harbaugh during the losing streak. Could suggest that Flores’ job is not safe.

I don't think the west coast matters. That was true when he took the SF job. But it was more because moving the family. Both Jim and his wife are from the Midwest and he bought a house for his Dad and Mom in Michigan. He is good friends with Ross but can he convince Jim to go to Florida? He couldn't last time. I could see Jim in Chicago it is less then a 4 hour drive to there from Ann Arbor.

Talk about KARMA. The whole season Grier and Flores were flirting with Massage Guy and leaving Tua to flap in the wind. Now, the shoe is on the other foot. Grier and Flores are going to spend the next 3 weeks wondering if Ross is in secret negotiations with Harbaugh and I love it. I hope both of them get asked non-stop about if they're worried that they'll be replaced.

Talk about justice

I didn't think about it like that. That would be quite delicious if at the end of the day it was Grier and Flores who got fired and we rolled with Harbaugh and Tua next year.

The very definition of Karma.
