I like getting people that were successful in the past too. And by past I mean over 15 years ago. Parcells and now we can get Jimmy.....not thanks.

Didn't Jimmy pick John Avery, Cecil Collins, and Yatil Green? Just saying….

I like how you can differentiate between "lucky" picks and "good" ones. I'm pretty sure it's a GM's job to find good players in later rounds, and that's what he did with JT and Zach.
 
Jimmy Johnson can pick pro bowlers but he also picked some bad players too. He has been away from coaching for too long. He will never leave the media job. It fits his lifestyle.

Well I guess you forgot the last coach that Johnson chose was Dave Wannstadt. One he quit on the phins already, he trashed our best player who was doing everything he could do to work with Johnson's style. Screw Jimmy Johnson. We were more successful with him but in the end he was to blame for much of the mess that we had for years
 
Don't you remember the last time we brought in a former Dallas Cowboy head coach to run things??? :lol: :lol:

He wasn't forced to do anything. His choice. He was here once, left, and the team fell apart with his "hand picked" personnel he left behind. Almost as bad as a train wreck left by the fat tuna. He certainly can evaluate talent, but I think he's happy right where he is.
 
I was raised on the greatness that is Dan Marino, and I would never say anything bad about him. The truth is he made Shula a great and relevant coach the last 12 years of his career,r when everything shows his style was out dated and his talent evaluation was non-existent. But if Jimmy was allowed to move Marino, and save all that cap space and also get a mixture of picks and players in return, he would of made this team a contenders.

You can't fault him for the Collins and Green picks. One showed promise, had a metal lapse and went to prison, the other blew out his knee and had to retire before he started. Hindsight is always easy. John Avery, ok, I'll give you that one although no one bats 100%. He was an above average talent evaluator, ahole, but knew college players.
