Jimmy Johnson for GM

Jimmy Johnson for GM and let him pick his coach. Nobody can draft like Jimmy. He was building this team when his mother died and was forced to miss the funeral which made him quit.

Oh My God! What did we ever do to you? I wish I never saw this post because.......that was about the most preposterous combination of drivel I have ever read!

I agree. JJ would be good. The only reason he failed is he could not get rid of Danny boy.

Jimmy sucks...sucked then ,sucks now...look at his cheeks...plenty of suckage....guys don't be stupid

That was 20 years ago and the game has passed him by.

I cant stand some of the double negatives on Finheaven. People clamor for a young and innovative coordinator but then want dinosaurs for GM who were successful in a different era.
over rated hack ??? 2 time superbowl winner that could have won more but had a owner wanted all the credit. I never seen one guy draft some many pro bowlers between dallas and miami. You are a moron if you think otherwise.

Not as the coach as GM can't you read ???

In a salary cap era of football..Jimmy failed...Daryl Gardner was a no-brainer,JT and Zach were just lucky picks, the only picks that was great are Madison and Surtain.

He also so had some stinkers in Dallas...He just had SO MANY high picks.it was hard to miss.

Actually it was Don Shula who failed with the cap. In his last year he stocked the Dolphins with 13 (plus) former 1st round draft picks in order to force a Superbowl.
The reason why JJ could not do as he pleased was simple: he was cap strapped for the first 3 years.

Well count me as a 'moron' because he inherited Irvin and Aikman and if not for fleecing the Vikings on the Herschel Walker trade, those Super Bowls would never have happened. He drafted Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft forfeiting a number one pick. He could draft defense pretty well but was AWFUL at drafting offense.

Here are JJ's High offensive draft picks. 1999 - JJ Johnson, Rob Konrad, GAry Ruegamer / 1998 - John Avery, Larry Shannon / 1997 - Yatil Green, Brent Smith / 1996 - Karim Abdul Jabar. Lets even forget about the high draft picks, in his 4 years here he did not draft ONE, NOT ONE good offensive player. His best offensive draft pick was Karim Abdul Jabbar. That is laughable.

Its all good anyways because the majority of this board would not want JJ on this team in any capacity.

EXCELLENT idea!! and hire Cowher as HC.. ANYBODY that doesnt think Jimmy is a football man isnt a football man.. 90's or otherwise!!

Not to mention the John Avery pick was after Miami traded down from number 19 in the first round, two picks ahead of where Randy Moss was drafted...and people think Daniel Thomas was a reach in round 2...

Yup.. JJ was an absolutely horrible offensive drafter.

For all of the good players Jimmy Johnson drafted...all of them being on the defensive side of the ball...he made one unforgivable screw up that should prevent anyone from wanting him in this organization ever again. He left us Dave Wannstedt to be his successor. So unless you want to give Norv Turner a 4th chance to fail as a HC (Washington, Oakland and San Diego...15 seasons as HC, 5 winning season, 114-122-1 record) I suggest you move on from Jimmy Johnson.

He wasn't forced to do anything. His choice. He was here once, left, and the team fell apart with his "hand picked" personnel he left behind. Almost as bad as a train wreck left by the fat tuna. He certainly can evaluate talent, but I think he's happy right where he is.
Yeah, the team fell apart...5 years later.
