JLC:Farmer Expected to be Offered Job Other Notes

I do not think he will get it. Ray Farmer is seems like he deserves a shot. Tom Gamble would be outstanding.

See, Gamble is the test case for me. If he is interviewed and is offered the job…or even he is simply interviewed and does not get it…I would blame the FO structure and the inheriting a HC as why a top personnel guy did not want the job. IF that happens that is on Steve Ross.
Or the fact that his dad is dying in Philly and he didn't want to leave him.

On the other side, I wonder how long Ireland will stay unemployed, lol.

Nobody knows the family situation. However, if he did not take the job, I am sure we would find out if was about family or the set up in Davie.

His dad is in hospice care. We kinda do know the situation. :(

This has been the concern with keeping Philbin all along. However it is odd that Miami gets the stigma of a bad org model when Tampa is doing it worse now and Carolina and NYJ did it last year...
Haters gone hate.

Those candidates could also use it as an excuse. Maybe Miami wasn't as interested in them as reported.

That could be true. Wouldn't Tampa be a better fit for this narrative though? That's the problem is the narrative created by the media, with awful local media setting the table for the national guys. The real blame falls with the local guys who are invested in tearing down the team.

Dawn Aponte, Matt Higgins, and Tim Garfinkle are in the meetings.

Now he says that the candidates are concerned that if they feel a change will be need in 2015 they are not sure how things will go with Ross and Aponte both being very close to Joe Philbin.

That's just peachy.

According to Chris Perkins of the Sentinel, the best and brightest of the bunch are Gamble, Marc Ross, and Jason Licht. Licht has already interviewed and he's hard nosed and aggressive, so I don't see him getting along with Aponte So he's either out, or doesn't want the job. Gamble and Ross haven't interviewed yet, I don't think, it was just permission granted. There's no certainty either man even wants the job.

Farmer seems like a very respected guy in the league. But he just got hired by the Browns a few months ago and now he wants to jump ship? Why? It says in this article he was after a GM job, but they felt he lacked experience on the college side and had never run a draft before. Does this mean he'll be drafting for Miami for the first time?

So answer me this. Has anyone interviewed for a job they didn't want? Only reason I can think of for doing this is to advance some how in your current role. All this speculation of what will happen after a GM is hired is bull****. No one in here knows **** about what's going on. The dolphins will offer the position to whom they think is most deserving. I just hope who ever is hired does a better job the the clown who just left.

Not a fan of Farmer. He's a pro personnel guy not a college guy. Also, he strikes me as just another fake smart guy like Ireland, overthinking the draft for the sake of looking smart. In other words, I think Farmer is clueless.

Sure. I could definitely see how someone who might not even want the job might be inclined to interview. 1. It gets your name out there, and 2. It gives you some experience interviewing for that kind of position.

Farmer seems like an up-and-comer.. but with needing a complete overhaul of 4 OL positions (plus backups), we need a vet GM.. process is building toward Gamble's interview imo

Man I'm just happy it looks like no matter what we are going to have a quality GM.

Has everyone on the list even been contacted? And who is expecting the offer, Farmer or LaCanfora? The only sure thing is someone will be in before the draft. Until then everyone chill.
