Also, to be fair this board LOVED....LOVED Weeden back then. Some of our brightest hailed him. I got into some knock out draggem outs with people because I thought he was mid rounder.

I thought Weeden was going to be a great NFL quarterback after the 2012 Fiesta Bowl. He was outstanding in that game. Smoked Stanford.
 
After reading articles on Ray Farmer, he seems to be a very dedicated man. It also sounds like in-spite of his lack of College Scouting, he's become a quick study and learner. I like how, he's been scouting college on Saturday's and breaking down pro player film on Monday's for reports. Sure seems like he knows how to scout a player, whether it be NFL or College. IF Miami does hire him, it may very well be that Miami has found the proverbial, "Lightning in a Bottle" type candidate!!! A true up and coming player evaluator. The only thing about Farmer that may come into question is, he's never run a draft. But in all fairness, his Asst GM role in Cleveland should be preparing him for that. IMHO he could be the guy, who finally turns this Storied Franchise around?

speak for yourself. I was never for a 28 year old rookie QB playing in that type of offense.
 
I was never for a 28 yr old rookie QB of nearly any for. Maybe one of the guys from the USFL like Kelly or Young, but not some old fart from college.
 
Sounds like Farmer is very well respected. I think pretty much anyone is an upgrade over Ireland. Time will tell if he gets the job and is the right fit.

Well a lot of the board did. I never agreed with drafting an overaged qb like that this high. Same reason I was against Beck although Weeden much older
