"He and I had a great conversation last Thursday or Friday when the dust settled," Dolphins rookie head coach Joe Philbin said. "We talked and he sounds very excited and very optimistic. He's anxious and can't wait to compete for a job. We talked about how I envision that position moving forward, and he was all on board." Moore showed good things last season. He displayed mobility, command of the huddle and an occasional deep ball. But Moore isn't the precision, drop-back passer that is often needed in a West Coast offense. That is probably why Miami searched far and wide for a potential replacement. "He's not necessarily a 'by the book' quarterback, but he was very productive," Philbin said. "He has good arm strength, and he kind of has that knack. He has the ability to move the team." http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/40371/joe-philbin-qb-matt-moore-is-ready

Garrard has a chance to be charismatic leader and get something going on offense. I have always liked the guy and I think David wins the position.

Not going to knock Moore... guy did pretty good last season,I would like to see what he does with a more solid Line and a spread offense thing is we need some wr's who make plays after the catch but all in all the guy deserves a shot.

I'm rooting for the guy. He might surprise all of us and lead Fins to a top 10 offense.

So he's ready but david garrard is gonna compete with him. Interesting

Moore has always been a backup as he was last year, Garrard was a full time starter so yes there will be competition.

There is no way in hell Garrard beats out Matt Moore..

I like Moore. He did well despite having an inept coaching staff behind him... He may suffer some growing paions in the WCO offense but at least he'll have coaches who know what they are doing teaching him...

he's ready alright...ready to get you fired joe

as for garrard only way he's not making the 53 is if he's not healthy or tannehill proves to be a very quick study...and i mean lights it up in camp

Competition is good and healthy.. Look at Sanchez's performance last season with no real competition..
Competition will bring the best out of both QB's..

I give Garrard a good chance of beating out Moore as well - esp. in a WCO

Moore couldn't beat out Henne in a system he was familiar with
