Joe Philbin: QB Matt Moore is ready

go read up a little bit on Matt Moore's 2010 season with the Carolina Panthers...

the story line sounds eerily familiar.

takes over mid season.. leads team to a bunch of wins down the stretch. declared starter in training camp going into 2010 season.. Carolina has one of worst seasons of all time.

seen it before, get ready to see it again. Moore isn't the answer. sorry boys

I did read up on Moore. Moore was rocked in the season opener of 2010 and suffered a concussion that knocked him silly for weeks, he tried to return but was a mess from the hit. He then lit it up for a few weeks later and then was knocked out week 9 with a shoulder injury for the rest of the season. His oline was just gross also. I think he only started like 5 or six games. Just stating the facts..

There is NO way that garrard beats out Moore.

Garrard lost his job in preseason last year to gabbert because Blaine outplayed him. Moore is much better than Gabbert was as a rookie.

If Tannehil doesn't fall to us, I get the feeling Cousins will be our guy. They are defininitely drafting a QB in the 1st two days. I'm not a fan of weeden.

that same crappy oline that led carolina to the best rushing attack in the league the year before? so he got hurt. played crappy. had an okay game. then got hurt again? what am i supposed to be happy with about that? the man got his shot.. and *hit the bed.

Is that why he was ranked the 12th best QB in the NFL last season? Even w/COLUMBO-CAREY, and the Meatball in charge?

again you arent understanding.... he came in and did the EXACT same thing with carolina in 2009... comes in as the starter in 2010 and bombs.

matt moore also led the league in fumbles for quarterbacks last year. also faltered down the stretch.. but none of that matters...
he is gonna be the savior of the dolphins lol.....

get ready boys.. those who dont heed history are doomed to repeat it over and over. Carolina 2010 all over again if we have Matt Moore be our quarterback

I'm rooting for the guy. He might surprise all of us and lead Fins to a top 10 offense.

We're going to need a lot more offensive weapons to even sniff a top half offense. I just don't see Ireland drafting a ton of playmakers this year.

Yeah, except Philbin gives a **** and isn't a lame duck, uncaring coach like Fox was and even post-concussion, as bad as Moore performed for that awful team, in 5 starts he did win 50% of their games in 35% of the starts. Or don't you realize that with an upgraded team and a coach who cared in 2011, and a QB who was the first pick whose legs were one of their lethal weapons, that exalted QB on the better team went 1-5 and 2-10 before things clicked in. Do you really think if he wasn't the top draft pick he'd have been around to start the 6th game, let alone the 12th?

Perspective... when one looks through a vacuum, more often than not, dust will be clouding their vision :idk:

it isnt looking at it in a vacuum. its realizing that if Matt Moore wasn't wearing a fins uni.. the consensus would be "yeah he played well, but he sure as hell isnt the answer".

and he isnt. if we roll with him.. we'll be right on track with the previous 4 seasons.... around 8-8

matt moore is about as injury prone a human being as I have ever studied... he has been injury prone since his college days. both with UCLA and orgeon state. he also is no stranger to being pressed into action, so the overplayed built in excuse from some members on here for him hold no water with me. a full TC??? nobody got that in the lockout year did they? a new offense? both qb's had to learn the new offense. matt moore started as a true freshman in college because the starter went down, and he lit it up. leading his team to 7 scoring drives.

matt moore has had injuries to his leg, right knee, left fibula, head, (concussion), shoulder, and whatever it was he hurt with miami.

ok did we upgrade on the O side of the ball.matter of fact we traded our best wr.i dont see moore or any other qb being able to win 10 games or even 8 with this O

I am so hopeful that Moore surprises us this year. I bet ya he will. Watch!

There's nothing positive to be stated for Matt Moore. He's a backup QB in this league. A very good backup (That's positive, right?), but a backup nonetheless. We'll win nothing that matters with him starting at QB. I'm not going to sit here and try to sugar coat it. I'd rather be realistic than a homer.

The homer would be saying that Matt Moore will definatley do better next year and has a good chance of being an elite QB soon. The Debbie Downer ( you ) would be saying that he can't do it and that he is a bakup. The realist ( me ) is saying neither....only that we don't know for sure but he could become an elite talent, but that he might also regress. Realists see both sides, not just the negative.

Thats fine. You can sit there and cry about how much he sucks while the rest of us root for him

mike mayock today on path to the draft..."miami's got nothing but backup qbs"...so so right

I dont think he has the talent and makeup to be an elite qb but he showed last year he can be a good qb. I have no confidence in in him being either and losing his top target doesnt make him better
