Joe Philbin ranks very low among the NFL’s best head coaches.

If that is the case, shouldn't Phlbin be ahead of McCoy?

McCoy got his team to the second round of the playoffs in his first year. Already makes him better than Philbin

In the post I quoted, the argument for 6-10 Marrone above 8-8 Philbin was because he beat Philbin. 8-8 Philbin beat 9-7 McCoy.

No one's going to agree about any "lists," because they're going to fixate on one person in it they believe was misplaced, and use that to judge the validity of the entire list.

This is what I see every time you post.

Well, Philbins ranking doesn't bother me...He could easily fall anywhere between between 25 and 20, what does bother me is some of the other rankings, but thanks for trying to explain everyone's thought process...

Where these rankings made by a magic 8 ball?

Remove the thoughts about Philbin and some of this is down right retarded.

Rex Ryan ahead of John Fox?!?!??!

6-10 Doug Marrone Ahead of 8-8 Philbin?

Bill O'Brien 20th despite not head coaching a day in his life in the NFL?

Marc Trestman at 24?!?!

Andy Ried ahead of Mike McArthy?

Oh and what exactly did Fisher's 7-9 St. Louis Rams do to warrant him being 11th on this list?
Rex is a top 10 HC, he's way too low on this list.

Move Philbin up 5 spots and he still sucks. The only list he belongs on is the unemployment list. In crunch time, he had the worst performance of any team in the nfl.

Based on what? His three straight non-winning seasons?

the last 2 seasons have been his best coaching jobs, better than the 2 title game runs. Look at the healthy talent we had in 2012, the fact that we had a chance in Dec was miraculous. this past season w/ so many rookies including a rookie QB not ready to play in this league he had us in the race later and got us to .500. Spectacular job.

I don't know exactly where he ranks but he's one of the best in this league. I think Jim Harbaugh is the best by the way.

Rex has grown as a coach I will give you that.
The way I see it the NYJ were a 6-10 team that lucked into an 8-8 record(say what you will but the Tb and NE games were EXTREMELY fortunate).
Having a -100 point differential doesn't lie.
If the Jets ever want to take the next step he has to get better.
That team is way too inconsistent. Blown out waay too often for a well coached team.

he has actually shrunk, weighs much less now than 3-4 years ago:D

I wouldn't say NE was lucky but sure TB was. They took a TD off the board for us n a ticky tack call. Game shouldn't have gone to OT. Every team wins some games they shouldn't and loses some they shouldn't.

Remember how they were supposed to be a 3-4 win team going into the season and that was w/ mark who was much better than Geno.

they do have a few too many blowouts but the team was so young and so banged up on O. A lot of that was a young QB not ready and the healthy talent around him. Think about how hard it is to keep a team together that does see those types of blowouts?

Philbin is in the bottom 1/4 of head coaches in performance. Seems very accurate to me...based on his past performance.
