Joe Philbin Regrests Distraction, Still Does Not Name Starting QB for Sunday

re: Taylor
Joe just subcontracted too much.

Also I think only having a history with one NFL team hurt so he had little to no NFL connections.

... the fact that he waited 2 years to get someone qualified to work with his rookie QB who was such a project coming out that everyone here assumed he would sit year one?

If Zac Taylor isn't qualified to coach Ryan Tannehill and teach him proper footwork, why the **** did Joe Philbin hire Zac Taylor to be his QB coach 2+ years ago?

Not only that, Philbin wouldn't allow Lazor to bring in his own QB coach. He stuck with Taylor as a favor to Sherman because Taylor is his son-in-law.

Thats unfortunate.
Who would have Lazor brought in?

Tannehill being poorly coached is my great hope that he can be salvageable still, since his deficiencies may not be entirely his fault.

Were you not excited over the prospect of Lazor working with Tannehill when he was hired? I know I was. But you get upset when he actually does it? The doing part is kind of important.

And working on his footwork doesn't mean Taylor never did that. If Tiger Woods hires a new swing coach that doesn't mean the old swing coach never worked on his swing. Tom Brady says he has to constantly work on his footwork.

Joe Philbin realized he needed to go in a different direction with respect to QB coaching, he's trying to correct the problem. Would you prefer he did nothing?

Of course I wouldn't prefer that. But how is this not a reflection on Joe Philbin making bad decisions with his coaching staff?

What makes you say that?

At Lazor's first PC, he was asked if he was able to hire his own staff, and he said no that 's Philbin's call.

Admittedly, it is Philbin's call to hire and fire staff, but you would think he would be willing to hire someone Lazor recommended and it doesn't seem like he was given the chance. I can't see Lazor wanting o keep Zac Taylor around...

I cannot even watch Philbin in a press conference. He just represents another disappointment.
Frankly, all my expectations are gone for this season. I am just waiting for the eventual firing at this point.
A whole lot of pain and suffering sill to come for the already long suffering and embarrassed Miami fans.

Take the God Damned blinders off people!! Rex Ryan is not in trouble as a Head Coach because he hired the wrong QB coach...

Russell Wilson is not one of the best QBs in the NFL because Pete Carroll hired the right QB coach.

I've always given Philbin the benefit of doubt up until this point but now I've really got to step back and take a reality check. Like many I gave him a pass when he was a rookie head coach, questioned his decisions when it came to playing younger players and was totally appalled with his handling of the whole "Bully-gate" saga. This season I've found myself disagreeing more and more with his coaching philosophies and now sparking a QB controversy at a very fragile point in our season is just plain stupid. Is Tannehill the right QB for this team? Maybe so? Maybe he's not? - but on the eve of a crucial road trip INDECISION is simply the WORST decision Philbin could have ever made. If Matt Moore is the starter post-London I'm fine with that, but it's simply an unnecessary distraction at this point.

Bottom Line: Philbin might be a nice person but that doesn't make him a great leader. I'll let the season play out with him as HC but he's walking a very slippery slope. He's lost my confidence, I just hope he hasn't lost the team.

Yup. I've tried very hard to support him as coach of the Dolphins, because I do think he has done some good things and I think we needed to try to end the circus that surrounded our team.

But this idiot has actually made it even more of a clown show. Enough is enough.

Philbin didn't do anything wrong, besides lose two games in a row that is.

The worst thing he has done is this mealy mouthing thing about regretting how he answered a media question.

The owner basically pulled the rug out from under him and undermined his authority.

I've said it before Lazor sure looks much more like a potential winning head coach than Philbin does.

There is a word for those who value their own personal policy above all else, including the well-being of the organization they manage.

It's called "stupidity."

I truly don't get the whole controversy though.

He's never said at any press conference that "Hey Tannehill is starting next week"
