If it was me I'd cann them both.

Waiting one more year only will waste a season.

I didn't see anything to indicate that Philbin is capable of doing considerably better next year.
He was not prepared to succeed and did not do what was needed to get the team ready after
a Bye and after ten days off.

Even the games where we won, many were just barely won.

The O could not run out the clock and the D allowed teams to run up and down the field on us

Ireland will do what he does best. He'll jump on the "blame Sherman" bandwagon and convince Ross that Sherman is the cause of all his troubles and survive another year. Meanwhile, Philbin will become unhappy at the fact that his GM has just ratted out his friend and OC and they will have a rocky relationship this next upcoming year until Philbin becomes frustrated and leaves or has another sub-par year and Ireland then convinces Ross to fire Joe. I sure hope I'm wrong on this prediction, but I sure can see this playing out this way.

Your post is nothing that cant happen unfortunately... BUT your only saving grace is that Fisher and Ireland will never be here at the same time. If Fisher comes that means Ireland is gone as Fisher wants total control, and if Ireland is here it means Fisher rejected the offer, again... Both Scenarios, having Fisher or Ireland here, suck
Ross is a moron...and he continues to demonstrate this. We will keep Philbin and probably Ireland. They will scapegoat Sherman (not that he doesn't deserve it)...Then the moron can say he "did something".

Then after next year, when we fail again and Philbin has had three years; Ireland will declare that it is Philbin, Coyle, and the new OC's fault and fire them all. He will, of course, give himself a raise for all the hard work. He will then hire Jeff Fischer, who should be fired in St. Louis by then, and declare that he has made the fans happy once again. (And give himself another raise...) After three years of additional failure with Fischer....

I think you see the trend here...
