Joe Robbie: Who Knew?/Go Vote for Joe!!!

if i was told correctly our dynasty of 70's was distroyed because of robbies tight pockets which doesnt sit well with me

Don't blame Joe...the WFL came along and some guys like Csonka, Kiick, etc., had to make some financial decisions. We would have won 5+ Superbowls in the 1970's, and there never would have been all those Steeler SB's had the WFL not ruined us.

The difference between the OB and JRS is proximity to the field. Look at the closed EZ of the OB the bleachers are the endline of the EZ. From the sidelines you can literally yell into the players earhole. When I was a kid I used to go to Hurricane games when they couldnt get 25000 people in the OB. In the closed EZ they would get like 10 to 15 rows of fans who would all jump up and down in at the same time. They would have that entire bleacher bouncing 4 and 5 feet off the ground.

In JRS the stands are set way up about 15 to 20 feet high over the level of the field and set way back 25 30 yards away from the gridiron. You just cant get a resonating, echoing roar going because your to far away and theres nothing to echo off. Its a beautiful stadium and the good news is that all new stadiums are this way so therse only a few left with a real homefield advantage with respect to making enough noice to impact the play on the field.

If it were me I'd start encroaching on the perimeter of the playing field with either more permanent concrete seating or install retractable bleachers or something. The fans are just to far from the field to have the impact you can in the OB. Once or twice a game if the 12th man is well choreographed and everyone blows their lungs out you cna impact the play on the field with noise. I live in Packer country and evertime I go to Lambeau it reminds of my childhood and grwoing up watching the Fins in the OB. Im not sure but I think it was the last Monday niter in the OB we beat Dallas 28-21 as Clayton is taking the final TD to the house you can see on the TV the inset of the clock as it gets shakin leterally off the screen. Thats the way the OB is you can feel the structure moving undr your feet, its frighteneing actually.

Joe is another South Dakota boy like me, part of the reason I chose to become a Dolphin fan. Even if I wasn't a die hard Dolphin fan I would have to vote for my home state brother (may he rest in peace)!:cooldude: :cooldude:

Pretty damned good post BA !

Keep voting guys!!! We can't let George Steinbrenner catch Joe Robbie.

:dolphins:

Not to be a party pooper, but maybe we should slow down the rampant ballot-stuffing?

I'm guessing the folks at ESPN.com will soon be rasing eyebrows at how votes for Joe Robbie (and only Joe Robbie) have surged in the last 24 hours.

If I'm their web boss, I might consider yanking the poll if it starts to appearing to no longer be legitimate.

Robbie is smoking everyone. C'mon people keep the votes coming in. Whether you liked him or not, remember we keep the conflicts within the family. But outside of here we have to stand up for our Fins.

I'll get of the soap box now.

VOTE!!!

Must have dropped some. Now he's in the high 60's but still dominating.

Over 1000 registered members frequent this site every day. If everyone took 2 minutes out of their time here to vote for Joe just once we'd win this thing in a land slide.

Pay your respects to the man, and give him 2 minutes of your time.

Why would they have a poll that you can vote as many times as you want?? Seems strange.

Who's #1, well right now 67.1% believe it Joe Robbie
