Joey Harrington was on Trade Block...?

Harrington cant even get the job done with all that offensive talent and coaching around him, why the heck would we give anything for him to come here?

I admit I haven't seen him play too much at Detroit, but I was at the Fiesta bowl when Oregon killed Colorado and Chris Brown. Man, I was drooling. The guy has a ton of talent and his dad was a coach. I'm guessing he does not have the supporting cast in Det. With our current O line issues, I'm not certain he'd fare better here.

People who think Harrington is a nobody are idiots... I am sorry, but your opinion in this situation can make you an idiot. He is not an elite quarterback yet, but this year will decide that. Regardless of him being elite, he still outperforms everyone we have... but a 1st and 3rd is nuts, and a 2nd and 4th may be a little steep.

Well, KC is in a spot...they are built to win NOW...especially with all the money they spent and the moves they made. Now Green is hurt and that injury doesn't always resolve itself quickly...he may be out for several weeks or more. The offenses that both teams use are somewhat similar...Vermeil runs a variation of the WCO and the reads are similar, so Harrington, if Detroit is truely disillusioned with him, would be a decent option...It's a lot to spend, but the going price for a QB and would serve their interests for this year.

I don't know if Saban wants to spend that much of an investment to get Harrington or any other 2nd string QB that has shown some mettle (like Schaub, for example)...If he does this, first the transition to the offense has to take place and then you can evaluate a guy...so we won't see results much of this year, if at all. On the other hand, he apparently is not enamored with AJ and there has to be a reason that Sage can't break into the fray, and Gus is at best, settling for less than expected and not the long term answer. I think he may have waited to see if AJ or Gus was going to burn it up in this game and now he may be open to a Tim Couch or Rohan Davey...But if anyone is cut, it's gonna be Sage, IMO...I say that because of the salary cap ramifications with cutting AJ...

not necessarily. Orlovsky played well......

I didn't get to see the game but I am becoming a big Orlovsky fan. Can you tell me how he played. Any numbers for him?

Harrington is not as bad as people make him out to be. I wouldn't trade for him, but his numbers in the first 2 preseason games were like 14/15, now the 3rd game the Lions offensive line was pathetic vs the Rams. I think Harrington has a decent year, like last year, but Detroit has so many weapons on offense, if they can stay healthy they're a playoff team.

1st and a 3rd?? Did Carl Peterson just get back from a Rick Spielman seminar??

I agree. There's no way they offered that much. It's just some Lions' fans generated rumor.

I can't quite figure out why some say that Harrington has disappointed. Look at his numbers. He has improved in every year. Last season, he improved his QB Rating by 13 points over his previous season, completed close to 60% of his passes, and had 19 TD passes to 12 interceptions.

Somehow, this is a disappointment? I think some fans just have their minds made up and nothing will change it.

Exactly.

People keep mentioning the talent he had around him.

HE HASN'T HAD THAT TALENT AROUND HIM.

He had rookies. A rookie RB and a rookie WR.

In his 3 seasons as QB he has had Rogers for 5 games, Williams for 14 and Kevin Jones for 16.

Some of you either over exaggerate the talent he has around him or are completely oblivious to the injuries and rookies situation.
