Clayton said that three teams have checked in...Baltimore, Miami and SF.

He said more teams will take a look at him and he'd get a job very soon.

Clayton finished by saying he Garrard had a choice...be a backup in Baltimore, compete for starting job in Miami or start in SF.

Maybe 4 weeks ago, but it is too late in the year to go after a QB. Henne or bust.

I would've assumed the Colts would scoop him up real soon

*and yes, Henne or bust

Seriously unless your a 1A QB in this league your chances of coming here and unseating Henne is slim. Its just too late for this.

You can't deny Garrard has put up pretty good numbers in his career and would probably be an upgrade over Henne. However, I've changed my tune a bit, and want to see Henne in some regular season games with this new offense. His numbers during preseason were not pedestrian...in fact, they were quite stellar, particularly his YPA. And I'm wondering whether bringing in competition at this point might screw up team chemistry, which is said to be quite good and a bit different this season.

But I have a feeling Ireland isn't sold on Henne, despite what he's shown in preseason. I still think Ireland would move forward with Plan Palmer if he could, and might bite on Garrard. As much as I was in favor of a Palmer trade earlier this offseason, I don't think either of these would be a smart move at this point.

ill throw up if we sign him. At this point no QB we bring in can to better than Henne what with not knowing our offense.

it wouldn't hurt to have garrard around just in case henne well pulls a henne...

ya know, the media has gotten our QB situation wrong all offseason. ya'll are aware of that right?

miami is stupid if they dont sign garrard

henne is awful and will land the dolphins a 3-4 win season with garrard they have a shot at 6 wins and maybe 7 if everything clicks

I think you COULD sign him and have him ready after the bye.

Also, you have to still assess who is a better QB. One bad Henne game we will want Garrard.

Don't see it happening.

Id rather have 3 wins than 7, that being said no way we only win 3 games, 7 wins at worst.

It's Henne's chance to shine. No need throwing doubt and ruining his confidence heading into the season. If Henne doesn't perform well enough this year then he is out possibly taking Sparano and crew with him. Mike Nolan needs to stay though he is awesome.

I don't see the logic in signing Garrard at this point, what would it accomplish? He isn't unseating Henne for the starting job, and he would probably command too much money to be just a back up.

We've been through what? 13 QB's since Marino? Hell why not bring in another and see what he has. I mean come on man, you guys are gonna get picky now? Because Henne had TWO decent PRESEASON games? Flip that rock over baby, flip it.
