Jonathan Martin Alleges Player Misconduct, Dolphins ask for NFL Review

That Phillibin really runs a tight ship. I hope all their shoes were tied while they were doing this.

This is really become a "crying shame!" To this point without anything more than speculation all around, I have been giving him the benefit of the doubt as being maybe not so round a peg trying to fit in a round hole. But this is not an acceptible exit strategy.

As a conspiracy theorist, I'm beginning to believe that Martin mentally checked out of being a professional football player for whatever reason awhile ago, maybe too sensitive, too soft, finding a new gay inner voice or whatever, and has been keeping a log and planning this for some time now, just waiting for a typical lineman abuse session to arise to make a scene, a mountain out of a molehill and storm out for maximum effect on the advice of the lawyers with whom he's already been conspiring.

This whole mess comes off as too planned, contrived to be sprung suddenly and then to mushroom out of control so quickly. At this point, I hope the team burns his ass, outs him if he's gay, leaks untraceable spurious rumors about him being so even if he's not, and airs whatever dirty laundry he has. **** him: this is not the way to extricate yourself from what you now consider a bad situation after underperforming for the team paying you million$

So color me "Off the Give Martin The Benefit Of The Doubt" Bandwagon!!

I think Joe does have something to answer to for this, BUT the FO is so willing to allow the NFL to look at this that I think they have a ton of ammo to destroy this ****er. Martin might be walking into a professional mind field.

E will be sueing NFLPA to e obviously as them to investigate and they refused. Nice job DeMaurice you are bound by Federal Law to aggressively represent all members and you dropping the buck falls on the Dolphins!

Class action? Huh?

Read my prior post. The NFL is the ultimate deep-pocketed defendant. Martin will be suing the NFL as well as the Dolphins and some of his teammates. All his lawyers need to do is to find a couple of broke out-of-the league ex-players who will be willing to say they were bullied too for a percentage of the lawsuit proceeds and the NFL will be faced with a class action.

No. Not like that. By releasing text messages and voicemails that show Incognito threatening or otherwise harassing him, which Mort and Schefter say Martin has. There's also now a dispute brewing about when Philbin found out about this. Albert Breer has a new story out where he says "multiple Dolphins sources" say Martin brought the issue up with Philbin in the Spring. The Dolphins on the other hand have been saying this is all news to them. What can Martin prove about when he raised the issue?

Damn, I wonder what he would have thought of Dan Marino? He was prone to tearing his OL and receivers a new poop hole on game days, and is said to be quite the a-hole off the field as well...

GTFO Martin. What a ridiculous story...

whether you guys like it or not....if it's proven that the dolphins lockerroom was a hostikle work environment for one or some players there will be big consequences. harassment is not tolerated anywehre else....idk why you think it shoudl be ok in the nfl

guess we can put you on the homophobic bigot train then?

I hate to admit this, but my dad is a lawyer.

This feels like the prelude to a career ending lawsuit. They will allege workplace violence (ha) and, if he is gay, discrimination. They will sue and claim that his long term earning potential has been lost due to the publicity, and try to recover lost future earnings.

It will change locker rooms forever. It will turn them into corporate culture HR aware workplaces.

I'm not sure that is a bad thing.

With that said, there needs to be definitive proof in the form of witnesses, and hard knocks tape. I had a situation where an underling pulled a knife on me. He got a raise to shut him up after he accused me of falsely accusing him. I had 1 witness and that was not enough. HR "had to protect his rights" too.

If I'm the dolphins, I ask for a number right now to sign away any rights to sue the team and the nfl. Otherwise, we could be hearing about depositions and testimony for years.
