Jonathan Martin hires David Cornwell as his representation

Martins Retain High Profile Attorney

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer Sports attorney David Cornwell has been hired to help advise and represent Jonathan Martin and his family

Interesting. This can go one of two ways here. Either they are digging in for mutually assured destruction, or someone outside of the situation is finally going to step in to try to restore sanity.

Cool.

So it was all about money, all along.

This shows his intent was never to "change" culuture, or try to re-join the team, etc etc...

Thanks Martin!

Martin walks and money talks. Great way to destroy a team Martin.

Very possible. On the other hand, it could be that once someone from outside the situation -- i.e. not his parents, who are making emotional decisions -- may cool the situation and lead to an out of court resolution.

But I doubt it.

The Martins seem like total scumbags.

Martin time to grow up and stop letting your parents run your life.

Grown-ass man.

Pathetic.

Incognito should go even more high powered and go get defense attorney Mark O'Mara.

I'm hoping this all back fires on the martins and they get nothing out of this situation and big weirdo's career in the NFL is over.

I also hope he is known as the big weirdo crybaby momma's boy for the rest if his life.

Other thought:

Dolphins, Richie, NFL, or NFLPA are threatening to strike back and this is a defensive move? Doubt it, though.

The Martin's will use the legal system to continue their agenda. I really think Ben Violin hit the nail on the head with his latest article.

The story is being presented in black-and-white terms — Incognito is a racist bully, Martin a helpless victim — but I wonder whether the key color in this is green.

Martin left the Dolphins on Oct. 28, a day after they lost to the Patriots, and went home to California to be with family and seek counseling. Later in the week, it was reported that the Dolphins would put Martin on the “non-football illness” list so they could free up his roster spot.

When a player is placed on the NFI list — and this is important — his team doesn’t have to pay his weekly salary. Martin, making a little more than $607,000 this year in base salary, would have forfeited $35,733 for every week he was on the NFI list.
So yes, it’s fair to ask: Did Martin go AWOL without realizing the financial consequences, and now his people — most likely his agents — are trying to clean up the mess?

He deserves a life of public ridicule. What a pathetic POS to do this to your team. He is a spineless coward that should be treated like one.

What a punk. I hope Ross brings out the big guns and slaughters this chump.
