I know the 49ers have draft picks to toss away. But trading for Gabbert and Martin the snake?

you do realize that if neither player does anything they only gave up a sixth round pick.
Let me see we gave up a second for martin a high second. a second for white, a second for henne, a second for merling. a second for Thomas plus another pick, a first for long, a third for jerry, traded an extra second to move up for Jordan, gave up a second for smith,

So you are dumbfounded because they traded a sixth round pick

Gabbert worth a sixth?

Gabbert and Martin combined are not worth a 6th.

low risk moves . They are not asking Martin to be their starting LT or Gabbert to be their starting QB.

Just because they have been a good team the last few years does not make these move earth shattering. Both trades are boneheaded.

"Coach...coach, how will you handle the locker room and situations if Martin feels pressure and feels he is being bullyed?"

Whats he going to say?

"Well....we can just cut him, wont cost us a thing"

Its definitely high risk when you trade for a QB who has no NFL future, and who was going to be cut anyway. You are basically throwing away a draft pick.

I think what you mean is low value moves.
