And for those that haven't sat through numerous Packer games, Finley drops the ball more than Brandon Marshall so those who complained when he was a Phin be careful what you wish for.

i'm on the wagon for vilma as well, if he's still got some left in the tank, but just to be clear, you can't have a bounty program, without the players being involved. So, although vilma denies putting a bounty on anyone in the nfl, he knew of the bounty program. The nfl wouldn't have suspended vilma for a whole year, if they didn't have anything on him.

Good point, I didn't really give it that much thought as I can't really recall the fine details of what happened. I just remember that the coaches, Williams who started the program and Payton who let it happen under his watch, were both punished severely. That said, obviously Vilma did something above and beyond other players I just don't recall what that was
 
We "need" a middle backer and a veteran guard IMO
 
You realize Jermichael Finley was Philbin's TE when the Packers won the Super Bowl. Finley was also one of the players who attended his son's funeral.
 
It almost makes sense to bring in Finley to rotate with Clay. Maybe we carry 2 blocking TE's and 2 receiving TE's so the offense doesn't have to change if Clay or Sims get hurt.
 
You guys are right.....no retreads lets develop our young tightends....competion will be great in camp. Egnew time to fish or cut bait. New GM you got to earn a spot. Our UDRFA Gator from Marshall looks like a seam threat..... The guys scored a ton of TD's seems like a playmaker .....let the young guys battle it out...

If this camp battle goes the way I think l Clay goes back to HB/FB. TE Sims & Lynch 1 & 2 leaving Egnew & Gator battle it out for the third TE.
 
Would be thrilled with Vilma
Finley if healthy would be great, although Keller already has some chemistry with Tannehill

I don't think Vilma, Finley or Keller would come with much of a pricetag
 
I wouldn't have a problem with Vilma if he still has gas in the tank. We need a little fire in the LB corps. Finley I would like only if he was healthy, as I think Egnew has worn out his welcome and ready to be replaced.
 
Vilma got what he deserved although he the "emissary" of the real villain, Greg Williams in all of league blackmark. However, that's in the past, and if Williams, who deserved lifelong league banning more than anyone involved, is back at work, and back with Coach Mediocre (and now apparently Goodell's lackey too) no less, there's no reason to use Beheading-Gate as an excuse not to sign Vilma if Phickey thinks he can help.

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson is still not ruling out the possibility that the team will re-sign TE Jermichael Finley (neck), even though he has not received clearance from doctors to resume his career. Finley would also need to be cleared by team doctors before they took a chance on him.
 
I lost track of Vilma. Can someone kindly give an update? What's his status? Coming off injury?
