It all sounds good to me. The Jet's S Holmes walked off the field because of having to "work too much" and we have players running extra laps after practice.
I expect M Moore, J Pruitt and R Wallace etc to get a lot of early work to see if they can make it because I think their time on the practice squad is used up. While we did not invest draft picks in them, we did invest a lot of time.
There is certainly nothing wrong with having two veterans that can start at QB and having a Rookie sitting and learning behind them. That is a good thing, to now only have one solid veteran QB but to have two of them depth wise. I'd run the season with all three of them on the team.
I'd give Tannehill the scout team to run and allow him extra time with the young WRs, TEs etc that will be on the practice squad. That way they can improve together and have something going when they work themselves up to be on the team or even starting.
It sounds like due partly to injuries, Lane has a chance to make the team as a part time FB and short yardage back. From what Philin has said, we will not use a FB very much. We are going to be more of a single back, two TE formation team. We wanted another big back in case J Massam does not return from being hurt both to work as a short yardage back and to plug in when we use a FB so C Clay can spend more time at TE. J Lane might simply be a body until Messam return but could very well make the team if he is not able to.
J Lane is listed at 277 pounds although that means little, I'd like someone watching practice to say how big he looks. His stat of running for 49 TDs at Texas A&M is a eye opener.
I think one reason that Jeron Mastrud is working on his long snapping is that we want to carry up to 4 TEs. Maybe Fasano, Mastrud, Clay and Egnew.
