Junior Seau passes away..RIP

Yes, his whole family was too. In the video with his mom's press conference, the guy consoling her on the right is pastor Miles McPherson (also a former Chargers defensive back) of the Rock Church here in San Diego.
wow, that makes it even worst. I feel for his family.

Ozzy rules!!

A gunshot wound to the chest is listed as a suicide? Anybody else find that a bit odd? People usually don't shoot themselves in the chest and then wait to die. I hope they investigate all possible causes of death and don't jump to conclusions.

I had the same thought. The only thing I could think of is he wanted to allow his family to have a open casket for his wake. Then again, he's Polynesian, so I have no idea what their preferences are.

Or to preserve his brain for testing ala Dave Duerson...

I had the pleasure of meeting Junior on a trip to San Diego as a kid. I remember being in the back of the line, and watching as he enthusiastically greeted each and every fan. He never looked exasperated, and I remember thinking that he was genuinely happy to take pictures and sign jerseys for anyone who wanted it. When I finally got my picture taken with him, he gave me a bear hug before we moved on. You couldn't hope to meet a friendlier and more genuine person. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little shook up by this news. It's a sad world where the truly great people die young. RIP Junior, you will be severely missed...

Very sad day at work for all football fans since this happened in our back yard. We are all grieving the loss of Junior. My wife and I have driven by his house on the beach many of times. I had the chance to meet him at his restaurant and shake his hand and get his autograph on my Dolphins hat several years ago. As Brother Locke said one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Very sad day indeed as I am only 5 minutes from Oceanside. May he rest in peace. My prayers and thoughts go out to his kids and family. We lost a great person today.

Not sure if you know that I was not attacking Seau. You can have God in your life and still lower your guard. If he actually killed himself, that's not something God would aprove of.

Ozzy rules!!

Do me a favor when u get a chance, ask God why he gave me hereditary alcoholism, and a tiny penis???
Thanks.

18-1* is ultimately what caused this

It's sad because so many stories of him being such a nice guy. I don't know the exact name of his ethnicity (too lazy to look it up) but generally those people are extremely nice and outgoing so it's not hard to believe he was one of the nicest guys you would have ever met. But if it's true that he did indeed commit suicide, it's a very selfish act. His family now has to live with that with the rest of their lives. Not knowing if it was their fault or wishing they could have done something will always be in the back of their mind for the rest of their lives. It's also 10x worse because he had kids and if I'm not mistaken 1 or 2 are young. How do you do that to yourself when you have kids? Shouldn't they be the first thing in your life? They are your world. If he was depressed, kind of sad because your kids should make you happy and get through things. He should have thought about his family then himself, very very selfish act.

Bunch of hipsters here will probably dislike my post.

Very sad situation, RIP, I loved him while he was Miami, loved his game period..
