Just a few quick thoughts on Tannehill tonight....

Were Gibson and Matthews playing tonight? As bad as the Cowboys defense supposedly is, it seemed like none of the receivers were getting any kind of separation.

Ya...and it's pre-season...they've already seen enough to know what they plan for those 2 guys from the first 2 games. This one was called different to evaluate other things aside from what they'd already done. Just my take.

They got Clay in for one play then he was basically gone too. They wanted to see more Sims (bet they didn't want the fumble though).

Besides the incompletion to Wallace, he looked good. They were looking for him to spread his action around, obviously, he caught a pass on the left sideline. Some of those passes he caught would normally be for Gibby and/or Matthews.

Gibson and Mathews were in. I saw them. Not much it seemed. Bone head int.
I think he was expecting Hartline to be in different position. Still should have not thrown that ball.

The only position where Hartline was in and that ball could have been completed is if Hartline were 10 feet tall.

3 points at the half against the Cowboys defense. At home. Enough said. Tannehill blew last night.

You get that we could have scored a td instead of that first fg but we're evaluating the run game? You get that preseason is meant to evaluate players and situations without exposing what you'll be doing during the real season? What the hell is wrong with fans that scream the sky is falling during PRESEASON?! Oh, did he not throw for 400 and 5 tds so he is garbage? Please- I'm sorry 500 yards isn't good enough for you with a patchwork team

I also thought Tannehill had a very uneven night. One thing to consider is the imo Laser wanted to see what he had in the running game with Moreno behind various o-line combinations. Smith clearly outplayed Thomas so the starting 5 is settled. Turner is very strong and pushing Colledge for playing time. The throw to Wallace was ugly and not close. WTF???????? The pick on the throw to Hartline was awful. Damien and Damian Williams have to be on the final 53. Both are tough, talented and make plays. The running game took a BIG step forward, the o-line balled so I'm not too worried about Tannehills bad throws. Also, the defense looked very good. I think the coaches saw what they wanted to see and have to be pleases with the many good things they saw. Laser wasn't showing much tonight in the passing game and with our depth and talent at reciever I have to believe the passing game will be a strength especially if we can pass block and run the ball. Other than the horrible pick 6 Matt Moore was the man tonight and led us to a victory. Darkwa looked like a very good runner tonight. Tough decisions coming as we trim to 53. Almost forgot, Taylor looked like crap getting burned by Weeden. It seems that Will Davis is ahead of him as of now.

I was just going to give you a thumbs up on all this but your last bit on Taylor got me. Taylor had a good night on ST tripping up the opening kickoff who was about to break open. He had a great play downfield over the middle and also made another good defensive play. My count after watching twice on condensed NFLN was he had 4+ 2 - .The big minus makes you look bad though. But that WR made a great play.

Right now they are trying to disguise an elaborate banana split as a vanilla cone - not easy to do when you are trying to stay healthy

some of us want to see the vanilla cone dipped in chocolate.

And oh yeah...Simms fumbled killing a probable scoring drive.....and Hartline dropped an easy pass killing a drive.
