Im all in for Zimmer but im willing to give philben a chance lets just quit dragging our feet and make a decision before Zimmer or philben or both are offered a job. Zimmer could get Bucs job and philben has to be in consideration in Oakland. Im ok with missing out on Fisher no matter what happened but we already lost one potential coach that we was supposed to interview and we could easily lose either coach this week. Im sure Toub and Bowles will still be available. Now if there is a coach we are waiting for in playoffs , how come we did not interview them already but I digress. Of the coaches in playoffs I like Perry Fewell, Tom Clements and the Sf defensive coordinator

ive "heard" moss will be the guy in oakland. that leaves TB left, whats the rush ? we need to do as many interviews as we can.

We know Tampa's not going to be out-bidding anyone for anything. There might not be a bigger ownership ****-show in the league than theirs.

What makes you think they want to work with Ireland? Zimmer has seen first hand how a dysfunctional FO destroys a team, while Philbon is currently working for one of the leagues better FOs. Maybe they weren't impressed either?

I dont think Philbin has his mind on football right now... Its unfortunate but I doubt he'll be 100% focussed on football during the next few months...

I agree. It would be difficult for him interview again, accept the job, move across the country, do press conferences, hire a staff, get acclimated with his team and new surroundings what with all that is going on around him. My personal guess is that Zimmer is the front runner now, and I would hate to see the Bucs hire him away before we make him an offer.

I'd like to know why you think Philbin is a good option...?

We don't know what each of these men think about Ireland, but even assuming no one likes him, the opportunity to become a HC doesn't come around very often. Zimmer's been around the league a while, never been a head coach and my guess is if he's offered a HC position he'll take it.

I agree with this. I would welcome either of these two coaches. Philbin could give us the upper hand on Flynn as well. either way i am very happy we did not get Fisher.

You are right the opportunity is rare and a guy would been foolish to put himself in a bad situation. Go back and read what you typed about Zimmer. Are you saying desperation is good?

philbin needs a change of scenery, the fins would be the best choice, i really feel bad for what he is going through

He has been with the packers since 2003so he has been good enough to survive a coaching change. he was an offensive line coach prior to becoming oc but was both in college.
He became oc for Packers in 2007 and every year he has been coordinator they have had a top 10 offense in yards and scoring. I know McCarthy calls the plays but there is much more to being a coordinator than just calling plays. 5 years coordinating a top 10 offense in a row, makes him a good option not to mention his extensive oline experience. None of our other canidates can claim that type of success.Zimmer is my choice of what we have so far but even his defense rankings dont come close.
