The Eagles play in a minor league division and are guranteed 6 wins just by showing up. They only have to win 3 more games to make the playoffs. If they played in the AFC East they would be lucky to go 3-3.

Bottom line: Could we beat 'em? And take off the shades before answering.

I would like to comment on your Eagles wide receivers observation. Greg Lewis and Reggie Brown are going to be special receivers. To say that the Eagles have no decent receivers behind T.O. is premature, because G.L. and R.B. are young and unproven. Watch them blossom and become an excellent duo. Unproven, yes. Not decent? No way.

OK, fair enough. Unproven, then. I guess I was talking more about the past couple years. Pinkston scare you? Freddie Mitchell? Now they have a couple guys with the dreaded "potential." I guess my point was the receiving corps (except TO) can't really be considered a strength yet.

Someone else pointed out my contradiction of poor recievers making great catches to make McNabb look good. Can't explain it but they do! I stand by both observations until those young guys prove themselves.

You never read my post right if you think I was on or off AJ's bandwagon. I have always thought he was bad, gus was bad and sage was bad. They are all great 2nd QBs, but not starters. We don't have a starter.

Yet, there are always posts on "why [insert bad qb] should start/will have a great year.." it just shows lack of knowledge and homerism.

Then explain going 4-1 on a good team in what was essentially his rookie season. You are basing your viiews not on how he plays with what he's given, which was the worst offensive unit ever assembled last year and looking pretty good with a cast of 2nd stringers and first cut players this preseason. You are basing your views on statistics which in football mean very little unless you understand all the components involved. I doubt any QB couldve done much better with arguably the worst offensive line in the game, zero running backs, an offensive game plan out of Pop Warner. He doesnt suck, A qb who sucks doesnt go 4-1 when given a good team to run. A qb who sucks turns a good team into a bad team. simply put we dont know how good he can be. But we will find out finally. If you can tell me that the offensive line improves just to the point of being in the top twenty I guarantee you a winning season with Feeley at the controls. He finally has some weapons to work with and when he gets time he's accurate as hel@. so this year will trly be the first year you can effectively analyze his potential and talent

I know many bring up the fact that Miami lost a lot of close games...but what you don't seem to realize is that losing teams lose close games too.

Yes, your right, I am judging only those single peformances... that most of us non-Eagles fans tend to watch. That is, the last Super Bowl and those NFC Championship games. Which, admittedly is not necessarily representative of how he performs on a regular basis (Games 1 -16, year in and year out.). [I will say this, his stats for last season were gaudy, and I'd love to see a QB for Miami put up #'s like that.]

I touched on it again only because it's something that seems amazing to me at this stage in his career - he's been in the league for like 6 years now, right? It's kinda like Fiedler still throwing those passes across his body to the other side of the field into double or triple coverage and wondering why it results in an INT. Isn't Fiedler an Ivy Leauge graduate? Hmmm.

I don't know if our guys believe that AJ can keep a play alive and make a smart decision - I'm not in the huddle with them, you know. But I do know this:

You've got to believe to get better.

If you play golf and you're going to drive a ball over a big body of water and you start off by putting down the worst, old ugliest ball you've got because if you lose it in the lake then, "so what - no loss"... guess where your drive is going? Uh-huh. Doink. In the water... which is exactly where you PLANNED to put it from the start. Otherwise, if you had believed and were confident, you'd have taken out the nice new shiny balls (boy, that sounds really wrong).

Again, you've got to believe to get better. I'd like to think our players believe in each other and, moreover, that they believe in whatever Saban decides.
