Just got back from Philly, and I'm forced to remove the homer glasses.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND 2 WEEKS IN EAGLE COUNTRY TO FIGURE ALL THIS OUT.....PICK ALMOST ANY TEAM THAT HAS BEEN TO THE PLAYOFFS IN THE PAST 2 YEARS. PLUS MOST OF WHAT IS STATED HERE IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE OF THE TWO TEAMS...

WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME?!

Caps lock, dude. It's over on the left.

The Eagles play in a minor league division and are guranteed 6 wins just by showing up. They only have to win 3 more games to make the playoffs. If they played in the AFC East they would be lucky to go 3-3.

Bottom line: Could we beat 'em? And take off the shades before answering.

I would like to comment on your Eagles wide receivers observation. Greg Lewis and Reggie Brown are going to be special receivers. To say that the Eagles have no decent receivers behind T.O. is premature, because G.L. and R.B. are young and unproven. Watch them blossom and become an excellent duo. Unproven, yes. Not decent? No way.

OK, fair enough. Unproven, then. I guess I was talking more about the past couple years. Pinkston scare you? Freddie Mitchell? Now they have a couple guys with the dreaded "potential." I guess my point was the receiving corps (except TO) can't really be considered a strength yet.

Someone else pointed out my contradiction of poor recievers making great catches to make McNabb look good. Can't explain it but they do! I stand by both observations until those young guys prove themselves.

You never read my post right if you think I was on or off AJ's bandwagon. I have always thought he was bad, gus was bad and sage was bad. They are all great 2nd QBs, but not starters. We don't have a starter.

Yet, there are always posts on "why [insert bad qb] should start/will have a great year.." it just shows lack of knowledge and homerism.

Then explain going 4-1 on a good team in what was essentially his rookie season. You are basing your viiews not on how he plays with what he's given, which was the worst offensive unit ever assembled last year and looking pretty good with a cast of 2nd stringers and first cut players this preseason. You are basing your views on statistics which in football mean very little unless you understand all the components involved. I doubt any QB couldve done much better with arguably the worst offensive line in the game, zero running backs, an offensive game plan out of Pop Warner. He doesnt suck, A qb who sucks doesnt go 4-1 when given a good team to run. A qb who sucks turns a good team into a bad team. simply put we dont know how good he can be. But we will find out finally. If you can tell me that the offensive line improves just to the point of being in the top twenty I guarantee you a winning season with Feeley at the controls. He finally has some weapons to work with and when he gets time he's accurate as hel@. so this year will trly be the first year you can effectively analyze his potential and talent

I tend to agree with what Bill Parcells saying..."You're only as good as your record".

I know many bring up the fact that Miami lost a lot of close games...but what you don't seem to realize is that losing teams lose close games too.

not when your defense is designed to screw up the mind of the OL and the QB instead of just lining up and saying, "OK! here we are! come beat us!" :goof: what a joke. No more of that crap for sure.

And winning teams win the close ones. How many teams did NE blow out? Not many. How many close games did they win? Dern near all of them.

Seriously, overeact a little more please. [Gee, I'm not sure I can keep up - you may have set the bar a little too high for me here.] I'm sorry, but I don't need to be an NFL scout to know that Feeley sucks. It is called common knowledge. [Which, I think we all understand now, you are the supreme authority on.]

The smartass post by finfan jus proves my point. [Pot calling the kettle black?] So sensitive because I can state the obvious. Look, if these guys were so great, why can't Saban decide who will start after week 3 of preseason? Yeah man, I deserve 250 grand because I don't think with my heart and say Feeley is so great.

This is just obvious. You probably thought Fiedler would be great too. How long did it take you to figure out that Wany was a horrible coach? There are hundreds of thousands of dolphans. Just because I call a few morons doesn't mean you have to whine about it. [Actually, I'm going to call a Bobby Brown on this one: "It's my prerogative," to stick up for my fellow FINFAN.]

I understood your point the first 5 paragraphs you posted. [NEWSFLASH: You STILL don't get it.] It was still a pointless post [Thank you.] because if you think AJ or Gus is going to be the starter next year, you are a homer and know nothing about football. [Uh, thanks again.] Go ahead and argue if it makes you feel better, but facts are facts. I know YOU don't care who starts, but I wasn't talking specificly to YOU, so quit crying.

Without a doubt, you are one of the most classless fans I have ever come across in this forum. Which is especially sad since you appear to be a Dolphins fan (though I'm not sure now because I'm starting to wonder if you have any loyalties outside of your own ego). You must have a really long list of friends. [Anyone want to take bets he bites on this one, too?]

I'm done with this. Really sad you feel it's necessary to be such an almighty know-it-all.

(Sorry, I'd have used a bigger font to properly show tribute to your greatness but it just wasn't there... kind of like your manners.)

First of all, you're judging him on 1 game, which BTW we've not been able to get to in recent history. Plus I think I specifically made the point about him throwing low and behind. And yes, his teammates believe in him. Do our guys believe AJ will keep a play alive and then make a smart decision?

Yes, your right, I am judging only those single peformances... that most of us non-Eagles fans tend to watch. That is, the last Super Bowl and those NFC Championship games. Which, admittedly is not necessarily representative of how he performs on a regular basis (Games 1 -16, year in and year out.). [I will say this, his stats for last season were gaudy, and I'd love to see a QB for Miami put up #'s like that.]

Yes, you did point out the low and behind thing. I touched on it again only because it's something that seems amazing to me at this stage in his career - he's been in the league for like 6 years now, right? It's kinda like Fiedler still throwing those passes across his body to the other side of the field into double or triple coverage and wondering why it results in an INT. Isn't Fiedler an Ivy Leauge graduate? Hmmm.

I don't know if our guys believe that AJ can keep a play alive and make a smart decision - I'm not in the huddle with them, you know. But I do know this:

You've got to believe to get better.

If you play golf and you're going to drive a ball over a big body of water and you start off by putting down the worst, old ugliest ball you've got because if you lose it in the lake then, "so what - no loss"... guess where your drive is going? Uh-huh. Doink. In the water... which is exactly where you PLANNED to put it from the start. Otherwise, if you had believed and were confident, you'd have taken out the nice new shiny balls (boy, that sounds really wrong).

Again, you've got to believe to get better. I'd like to think our players believe in each other and, moreover, that they believe in whatever Saban decides.
