Just heard on sports center manning spoke to Ross tonight

So we will have a top 5 pick next year to land him? Right. Moore isn't that terrible of a QB to have a full year under his belt with his teammates and having a few extra pieces to lead this team to a top 5 pick. Maybe a 10-15 but not top 5.
so by this line of thinking we cant get rg3 this year, and you are obviously aginst peyton, flynn is an unknown . so whats are option?

No, that ill give you, isn't a given, but we could always TRY and move up. Of course its all speculation. I'm just saying its not end if days.

I hear ya man it's just tough to fathom going through another season like this. At least if we have a young prospect this year and we don't have a great record at least we are working towards something.

To others, what I'm saying isn't really getting through. It's as simple as this.

1. We all know what Peyton is capable of. He is a beast of a QB and can do wonders behind center.

2. We DON'T know if he is 100% ready to go at it. Yes he wants to play but there is a big difference between wanting and being able to play at a high level.

3. Without knowing his medical situation and how he can perform (he can show teams by working out and throwing for them) I see no point in getting swept up in bringing him here until we know.

I just don't understand how people can truly want the guy here without knowing if he will be able to perform at that high level everyone would expect him too. Stop using what ESPN reports, or what some terrible cell phone video of him lobbing the ball, or whatever "professionals" in the media are reporting and come back to reality. WE DON'T KNOW. Nothing wrong with that. We, along with everyone else in the universe will know better in the coming days/weeks. Until I get a better idea of where he stands physically I am not chanting his name and jumping on that bandwagon. For all I know he could be setting up a workout tomorrow, be throwing footballs at light speed and all is great, but I don't and no one else does.

Manning starting the season at 80% is better than all but three QBs in this league - A Rodgers, T Brady, D Brees - I mean Noodle piss poor - was the ****s and people just like mr freezetag fell over themeselves for the guy

Manning isn't coming out to embarass himself

Look man...... I really dislike fighting and disagreeing with fellow fans but seriously man. This guy will perform.
This team will come together and not only that we will have a sell out crowd and finally some fuel to give our team use and motivate themselves to win. But not only to win but to keep winning and play with heart and determination.

I really like what matt moore did last year and honestly im ok with him at qb if this turns to ****... I really am. But this is PEYTON MANNING. Not some scrub who shouldn't be playing and definitely not some inconsistent quarter back like chad henne. Trust in him. Peyton would of retired if he thought he couldn't play. The man keeps saying I WANT TO PLAY I WANT TO PLAY. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO PLAY MORE THAN ME. Why question him? Why?

We are so close to something great here and will probably never get a chance like this to see something like this unfold for many years to come.
Don't ruin it with negativity. We as a unit as fans have gone through to much. And most of us feel the dawn is coming.

Post of the year. This is 100% gospel on this subject

Put words in my mouth all you want, boy

I hear ya but we aren't trading the farm here. Peyton said he would look at a performance based contract. If we sign him its low risk, high reward imo. If it doesn't work out, we are just in the same position as this year. Really a year set back not 5. And, no sure thing, but trade up for Barkley. Hell, what if 2 years from now we see the next great prospect? Better than Luck.... Thing is, none of us know, we can only go off what's presented to us now.

I'm being realistic. If you took the time to read what I wrote you would understand that. Every one of you are getting your panties in a bunch as though me stating my opinion has any weight on the decision. I'm stating the fact that the Dolphins, not what ex-teammates say about his arm, need to figure out for themselves if his arm is/will be good to go.

How dare anyone try to be logical on this forum.

That makes sense if he is physically there. All I've been saying is that is not a fact as of yet. Could be any day now but until then I won't be sold on it. There are people that just want this thing signed, sealed, and good to go completely blind as to where he stands physically. It's going to take more than his buddies vouching for his cannon to convince me.

But you're not being logical, if Peyton isn't healthy then that's why we sign him to an incentive based contract and if he doesn't perform to certain expectations then he doesn't get paid. But you say that wouldn't work because it would set our franchise BACK but by everything you said it wouldn't. Flynn is a project and if we sign him to a big contract and he sucks then that will definitely set our franchise back.

Keeping Moore as our starter this year and signing Manning to an incentive based contract and he happens to get hurt is going to do the same thing, it won't set our franchise back. Our only choices will be an unproven Flynn(who will set our team back way worse than Manning if he doesn't pan out) Tannehill(another raw project, will set the team back worse than Manning if he doesn't pan out, but he can still be drafted if we pick up Manning anyways) and we can ride with Moore(which would be the same situation we would be in if Manning got hurt on an incentive based contract.)

There's no risk to bringing in Manning, there's actually MORE of a risk to go with the other choices.

If Peyton isn't healthy you don't sign him. Why the hell would you even want a part of that situation?

It will set the team back because they are at square one with NO FRANCHISE QB after wasting a whole year watching the Manning parade go through Miami. You think of the future now. That is exactly what this team has not done over all of these years at the QB position, but the answer is apparently a quick fix. He is a short term solution. The longer the team waits to bring in a POTENTIAL, and let me repeat this POTENTIAL franchise QB, the more we will be discussing this year after year.

Everyone has been crying for us to take the initiative and do what it takes to get a FRANCHISE QB in here, yet Manning is nothing more then a short term fix, if that. Get young talent in here. That is the real risk. Of course it could go wrong and it not work out, but I am not on board to bring in an old man when this team HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR A FRANCHISE QB FOR OVER A F*CKING DECADE.

But with your logic, lets bring in Manning, and not just any Manning but your okay with an INJURED Manning at that (are you seriously ok with that?) and say at the end of the year when that doesn't pan out "well it was worth the risk". For what? An aging QB to tease us of what could have been? Too late for that.

Let's see what happens when Miami keeps avoiding finding the long term solution at QB while they waste the time they could be developing a young QB into a system selling tickets with #18.

lol @ the one guy who doesn't want Peyton Manning. Yes, let's continue status quo, perhaps we can run wildcat 80% of our snaps with King Moore next year.

I never said I wanted an injured Manning, I said if he does get injured and we have him to an incentive based contract then we would have the same year as we would with just going with Matt Moore. I want Manning and to draft Tannehill so we have a QB developing behind Manning, but I would take Manning in free agency especially since this team is a super bowl contender with A QB like him.

We could take the risk that he could get injured but it's not much of a risk if we sign him to an incentive based contract, ESPECIALLY if we draft Tannehill behind him like I would want.

The Dolphins need to get him by any means necessary. Bring in Wayne to sweeten the deal and make him comfortable right off the bat.
There are many things in Miami's favor, over the other teams who will make their pitch to Manning. Lets hope that the Dolphins owner and front office can nail this one down!!
