Just heard on sports center manning spoke to Ross tonight

This divorce happened in november or december, Irsay had any intentions of paying Manning that loot and manning knew it also. I expect this will happen in the next couple of days, Miami was one of the first team to actually want Manning. Remember the Billboard?

If, big if, he can throw at the level he has been able to, CONSISTENTLY, yeah it's a great option. But that isn't the case right now. Everyone is so quick to jump on this thing without knowing where he is at physically. It's sickening that people don't even factor this in, and dismiss all of it because they are getting their hopes up.

This whole Manning-to-Miami excitement is out of control. Let's see what the guy has got in him and go from there. As ridiculous as Ross is as an NFL owner, even he probably grasps this concept even though he is so desperate like many dolphin fans

There is a palpable feeling that people do not want a repeat of the Drew Brees **ckup. I understand what you are saying though mate, but I would be okay with the ownership taking a punt on Manning and offering a incentive laden contract thus minimising the financial risk. We simply cannot afford to miss out on the possibility of signing Peyton Manning, if we do and he turns up with the Jets and burns us for the next two or three years...well need I say more?

No one knows how he will hold up. I say we roll with him. I believe he will be fine.
Are you in line for the Debbie Downer award for 2012?

Sign Peyton, keep Matt Moore. He'd be the best back up in the league and it's not close...
2011 QB ratings... and don't forget the 14 drops by Marshall alone plus the 36 sacks he took in 12 games playing behind Colombo and Jerry. Add in 14 more catches instead of incompletions which included 3 TD's and he's between Eli and Matt Ryan. I want Peyton so they don't get rid of Moore and that's it. I'll expect Moore to play by the 6th game of the season if they get Peyton.

This is for the poster who doesn't want manning. Even teams with a franchise qb goes years without winning a sb. Rivers, tarkenton, Marino come to mind. There's no guarantee. So of we draft rg3 and he plays for 15 years may equate to 0 sb's. If manning can win us one in next 3 years we are way ahead of the game. We haven't won one in 40yrs.

If Peyton isn't healthy you don't sign him. Why the hell would you even want a part of that situation?

It will set the team back because they are at square one with NO FRANCHISE QB after wasting a whole year watching the Manning parade go through Miami. You think of the future now. That is exactly what this team has not done over all of these years at the QB position, but the answer is apparently a quick fix. He is a short term solution. The longer the team waits to bring in a POTENTIAL, and let me repeat this POTENTIAL franchise QB, the more we will be discussing this year after year.

Everyone has been crying for us to take the initiative and do what it takes to get a FRANCHISE QB in here, yet Manning is nothing more then a short term fix, if that. Get young talent in here. That is the real risk. Of course it could go wrong and it not work out, but I am not on board to bring in an old man when this team HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR A FRANCHISE QB FOR OVER A F*CKING DECADE.

But with your logic, lets bring in Manning, and not just any Manning but your okay with an INJURED Manning at that (are you seriously ok with that?) and say at the end of the year when that doesn't pan out "well it was worth the risk". For what? An aging QB to tease us of what could have been? Too late for that.

Let's see what happens when Miami keeps avoiding finding the long term solution at QB while they waste the time they could be developing a young QB into a system selling tickets with #18.
Even if he isn't ready to play yet there's still 6 months until the season starts, he's one of the hardest working players to ever play the game, the fact that he can throw at all right now tells me he'll be ready by September...

Exactly right. What alot of people fail to realize is Manning has great work ethics. Peyton is probably working out right NOW as I type this. He has 6 more months to get his body in shape. Only a fool wouldn't roll the dice on this one.

I'm so sick of reading these threads! I can't take this heartache!!! Please someone in our front office make this deal happen ASAP!!![/QU

He probably won't sign until sometime in April when teams are allowed to see him throw.

They are saying all over that Peyton wants to make a decision fast and before free agency starts (next tuesday I believe) so he gives himself and new team the best opportunity to succeed in the offseason.

I'm sure those who want Manning were happy that we landed Culpepper instead of Brees.

That makes no sense, no one can be happy about that, unless they could peer into the future. Cpt.Hindsight with another ridiculous post.
