Just watched Flynn

Exactly...Right now most here assume that just because we have Philbin, that he will want Flynn as his QB. BUT...it could be possible that Philbin does not believe that Flynn can be the franchise QB the Dolphins need. Time will tell, but if the Dolphins do not make a push for Flynn then it is fairly obvious what Philbin's assessment of Matt Flynn is.
Exactly, this is what i've been saying from day 1. Whatever we do will be Philbin's referendum on Flynn. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand if we pursue him it's based on Philbin's belief he's ready to compete as a starter in the League and if we aren't aggressive in trying to sign him, I believe that too will be based on Joe's assessment of his abilities and relaying that to Ireland and Ross... If we pursue him I have trust in Philbin's belief and will be excited to see Flynn in a Dolphins Uniform..

If Philbin makes Flynn his number one priority this offseason, that will tell me all I need to know about how good Flynn will be as a starter.

Or a year from now how bad Philbin is as an evaluator of NFL quality QB's

Matt Moore looks much stronger to me.

I was going to say the same thing.
I just watched the links on flynn's performances. Doesn't look much different from Matt Moore passing wise. You could argue Flynn's decision making is better(I think it's more of a system thing), but mechanically he look eerily similar to Moore. Flynn holds the ball loose when getting sacked, lacks umph on his darts (ball kind of flutters/floats), and he throws deep balls for grabs. Moore looks to have a slightly bigger arm. I looked at Rodgers highlights and you can't learn that. Arod throws the ball better on the run than Flynn does with both feet set. I wouldn't be surprised if Philbin passes on Flynn.

FLynn reminds me of a younger Pennington.

I watched all his throws in the lions and pats game and here are my impressions. Very accurate, quick decision making, weak arm so he can't make all the throws he will need to, terrible pocket presence. Flynn's strengths are Moore's weaknesses and vice versa, meaning I wish Moore had Flynn's accuracy but Moore has a stronger arm, which isn't saying much. Flynn is a nice qb and will be a decent starter and in a year, we will still be at the same spot, looking to draft a franchise qb.

I really wanted Flynn until I watched these videos. Not impressed with his arm at ALL.

I just watched Flynn on youtube, in the game last year against New England, mostly cuz many say, that this years game against Detroit, was mostly short completions. I was only looking for arm strength, because that seems to be the 'issue' on a few of the latest posts about him. I wasnt looking at accuracy or mobility, just arm strength, and it looked pretty damn good..

It makes me laugh that everyone is down on Flynn cause of arm strength but want Manning...huh?

Dinking and dunking??? That's what the West Coast Offense does. I don't know what some of you are looking at??? I saw deadly accurate passes for TDs!!! So what if he doesn't have a rocket arm. He moved the chains and scored TDs!!! That's what we're looking for aren't we??? Some people on here have no clue. There are maybe 10 Elite QBs in the entire NFL. You think one will just fall in our laps??? I would be very happy to have a QB that dinks and dunks for 490 yards in a game!!! Get over the Kevin Kolb or Feeley comparison cause it's completely different. Both of them were less than average when they played. Flynn comes from a winning system and he played well in the 2 starts he had against 2 playoff teams. Did anyone notice the drops and poor Oline play in those games??? Driver dropped an easy TD in the Detroit game!!! If we go after Flynn, he will beat out Moore, and then we will be back in the Playoffs!!!

^^^ thank you..........I'm not by any means making a blind comparison but Joe Montana didn't have elite arm strength. He grasped the WCO and the rest is history. Don't get me wrong but Jeff George, Ryan Leaf, Andre Ware, Tim Couch, etc. ALL had elite arms.I wonder how their careers turned out.

At least his name isn't Jay Flynn.

If anyone has any idea about how capable Flynn is to play in this league, it's Philbin.

If Philbin doesn't pursue Flynn, we will know why.

Exactly, and it should be left at that.

@ Dingaling (and ghostface since you're co-signing) - West Coast offense doesn't mean every play is a 15 or under yard throw. On top of that, if you LISTENED to Philbin when asked if we'd be running the WCO, he said, something along the lines of "I guess you could call some of the things we did in GB west coast concepts, but I don't know that we ran a true WCO." and "I want to see what our players do well and adjust the offense to the things our players are good at"... Aside from speculation, NOBODY has said Miami will be running a west coast offense in 2012.
