Justin Smiley

Even though Samson played well at center he ONLY played 3 games at center in college. His natural position was left guard.

We could draft a top center and slide Satele over to left guard

Then you would have
Long-Satele-top rated center-Smiley-Carey

I'm not saying this is the way to go but it is an alternative
I think you forgot to include Satale's senior season in your post.

Overall: Satale was redshirted in 2002. In 2003, he started all 14 games for the Warriors, opening the season at left tackle and then playing left guard for the final 13 contests. Satale again started every game (13) in 2004, playing both left guard (10 games) and center (3 games). With 12 more starts as a junior in 2005, Satele increased his consecutive starts tally to 39. He surrendered just two sacks in 578 passing attempts in 2005, when he earned first team All-WAC honors. In 2006 Satele started all 14 games at center, ending his career with 53 consecutive starts, and earned his second straight first team All-WAC selection.
Satale started 35 games at LG, 17 games at center and one game at LT.
