We have to take a QB at some point, but at 8 or 9 these 2 don't make any sense. If we don't trade up we need to fix RT big time
Draft Tannehill and start Moore until he's ready.
Weeden's talent is worth a 1st round pick in today's QB market, look at Locker and Ponder.
I don't think his age is a big a factor as it's made out to be. He has a good chance to be a starter right away and if he starts breaking down in his mid 30s let's cross that bridge when we come to it.
i dont understand this "OR" thing.
we have NO depth at qb. unless you believe the buffalo cast off [whats his name, mr. deeds?] is the answer.
so we HAVE TO DRAFT a qb, weather we have moore or not. and if this thing is handled right, henne is as far away from this team as an airplane can take him. but tannehil [who i love] or weeden shouldnt even be a thought at #8 or #9. tannehill wont last past the 3rd round so if we want him, we will have to pull the trigger than. its just how the qb is weather you think those two are worth those spots or not.
i would LOVE to draft tannehill as he shows everything you want in an nfl qb. he is young, big, strong, good arm, accurate and a ceiling that rivals the sears tower! if moore doesnt turn out to be the qb i think he is going to be, than tannehill is a great option to groom.
and lets face it, once again, matt moore is a glorified rookie. undrafted, a basic walk on for the boys that already had a qb rotation in place. it was numbers. ireland and tony new that and thats why they brought him here. in carolina, he had a limited camp and no reps with the starters. got thrown in when there qb got hurt. looked great! team around him didnt. he was injured out the gate the next season and the team was gutted at seasons end becuse they were horrid, along with matt. that just about always happens with new regimes. and how exactly in all that was he supposed to turn into a franchise qb? who could?
so here he comes, less than 2 years of games under his belt, one team he had NO shot at because of numbers and another just wasnt a good enough team for him to make his mark along with an untimely injury.
he comes off the bench here, no time with the starters in a limited camp, maybe the worst o-line in the nfl, play band on his wrist and a team that had no wins and none in sight, a short time head coach and he ended up SHINING!! under those circumstances!!
and people say his ceiling is reached? how? with less than 2 seasons of games and 1 full camp under his belt [as a backup]? hows that?
get this line built, add a real TE and a wr who can get in the endzone and then tell me about matt moores "ceiling!!
we build around a great looking young qb in matt moore and draft the best rookie left on the board which could be tannehill, hopefully.
no "OR" about it.
Hell i would say keep moore , keep devlin resign henne cheap and draft a damn qb and look hard at free agency. Cover all damn bases
4 qbs? plus free agency?? You do realize QB isn't the hole we got right? and look at free agency then look at the draft if you wanna waste a 1st round 9 pick on old weeden or one foot tanehill who has less talent then weeden to begin with.
