Keller's agent: He's ready to go right now

He may be medically cleared but I don't think he'll be up to par for another year. Very few can overcome that type of injury and be mentally and physically ready to go this quickly. Would rather see a TE taken in the draft.

Who knows? Brady had the same "Terrible Trifecta" injury in 2008 at a similar point in the season (slightly later actually) and was back in 2009. Keller's position is much more demanding on the knee than QB, but it is possible.

I have always been a big believer of giving a guy who got destroyed playing for you a second chance! Dustin has shown to be a true professional and very dedicated and aggressive in his rehab process. I don't see the downside of brining him back.

I am not confident that he will make a full recovery. His knee got destroyed. One year may not be enough to get him through. He is going to try, because he has to earn money, but I do not believe that he will ever be the same player. He may also be a bit jittery out of fear of getting hurt again. I say they draft a tight end as opposed to putting all of their eggs in Keller's basket. He is worthy of a look, but I doubt that he will be the player from three years ago. While their at it, just cut Egnew. He sucks.

Every time I see an athlete collect millions of dollars for doing nothing it makes me wish I was an athlete :/

Not to be crass, but NO thanks, not for a skill position guy. Everything I've read says a year and a half or two, if at all, for this type of horiffic injury. This staff has a history of repeatedly drafting and signing injured players thinking they got a steal, when all they got was an injured player. We have to find young, healthy talent, especially playmakers on both sides of the ball. I say we have maybe 2 playmakers on offense, not including Tannehill. Everyone else is just plain average. We need serious offensive playmakers in this draft, at least one seam TE, one explosive RB and one elite WR, and if you look who they are bringing in for workouts it looks like they are finally getting it.

Every so-called expert draft expert has us taking a lineman, but I'm predicting it won't be. It will be an offensive (WR, TE, RB) or defensive playmaker (LB, S). If I'm wrong I will admit it.

He didn't do nothing he suffered a traumatic knee injury from a vicious cheap shot. He has spent everyday since then having surgery and rehabbing. That injury would leave the average man limping for life.

Fot the vet min onto the 90-man roster? See how he goes in camp and move on if necessary when the cutdown date arrives? Would cost you buttons and you get a vet presence in camp at the worst...

If he's doesn't pass workout/medical tests you don't even bother...

are we so great at the skill position that we can afford to overlook a potential talent like Keller who has a lot to prove and is willing to do it for a small amount (vet min) of money? sign him. see if he's ready. if not oh well. worth the risk.

I'd like to bring him on, but honestly it'll be tough to watch him play. Every time he gets the ball I'll be bracing for a horrific injury. But yeah bring him in! Then maybe if we play the titans we can have tannehill throw up a duck for swearinger to give him a shot at revenge!

if true no brainer vet minimum one year contract

Yep. If he is healthy I would sign him even if we draft a TE.

You simply cant have enough weapons. And Clay is a weapon. As others have stated, he really isnt a TE. He does threaten the seam even though he dosent get credit for it, but that dosent mean we cant have 3 other TEs.

A roster with Amaro, Keller, and Sims at TE with Clay at H-back, 5 quality WRs, and 3 useful RBs would make for some interesting formation options and multiple threats to account for from everywhere.

No thanks.

Draft talent. Forget about the aged and battered.

After he passes the physical sign Keller. He deserves another chance. this draft is not deep at TE so we should draft one but only if he is BPA in the first 3 rounds. After round 3, I dont see phins drafting one.

This. The key is "after he passes the physical". I am surprised the guy can even walk, let alone play football. Big respect to him, but I sign him only if I think he can actually play.
