Kenyan Drake pulls up with apparent leg injury at end of run at Friday’s practice

Hard to compare the 2 Drake missed most of his sophomore year due to the freak broken ankle (that tas 1 of the worst injuries I have seen). PLUS Drake had TJ Yeldon & Derrick Henry to share the backfield with. Miller did not have to share the carries with 2 studs.

I think if he can stay healthy he will be a dynamic playmaker for us!

You're making my point for me. The original poster said "so you could argue Drake was nearly as productive in college while having 100 fewer carries. SO if Drake shouldn't have been drafted neither should the team have selected Miller".

He wasn't greatly productive.....only in spurts. He was hurt.....a lot. He was never a lead guy, taking a pounding week in, week out, having to show stamina throughout a game where some of his speed advantage might be diminished. He was only ever a change of pace back behind 2 power guys and was overdrafted in my opinion being that type of player, with other proven commodities still on the board.

I have a feeling Miller will fade off like Bush did when he left here. Not happy he is gone but the $$$$$he was asking for was to rich for the Fins.Just like Bush

Bush was a guy who succeeded at previous levels because he was flat out more athletic than everyone else and could run around them. He never really had great vision. Miller on the other hand is a natural, instinctive runner whose ability to get to the second level untouched was on par or better than Ricky Williams. Ricky was just a bit better at not going down at the second level. I'm not really familiar with the Texans scheme post-Kubiak, but Lamar could have great success in a lot of NFL offenses.

If the Texans struggle on offense this year, and Lamar with them, it will probably be because of an unproven, overpaid passer in a new system, not because of Lamar.
