Keys to stopping the Green Bay passing attack?

The only way we'll win this game is if we score more points than them

Don't play off coverage, play on ball coverage. Two safeties high. Hopefully get pressure with 4. Keep a spy around the line.

6 in the box....lmao...against that battering ram rb 6 in the box...:bobdole:

just play prevent why don't ya

this is probably your best bet but if you try and get physical with jordy nelson you will get smoked with our dbs...miamis gonna play a lot of off though it's part of the scheme...that packer oline is a whole lot more whole with bulaga back...but if for some reason derek sherrod gets inserted at tackle ATTTTTACKKKKKK

i'd try and limit nelson with help over the top and double cobb in certain scenarios...live with everything else one on one

any time rodgers comes to the los in the red and sees nelson one on one with no help he's gonna throw a fade or a back shoulderat the front pylon etc...gonna have to try and give some help with a safety but they'll still get their opportunities...better not have will davis over there or it will be a clinic

the one thing miiami will field that's good at cb is ball awareness and route recognition...the route recognition won't help us much cause if we guess we'll get smoked but the ball awareness should help them locate the ball in the air on the sideline etc...grimes finnegan and davis all show good ball awareness and good vision

Well, he's a good player, but he's no Brian Hartline.

Yeah, best bet is to run the ball successfully. Run the clock down. Keep Rodgers on the sideline for close to 40-45minutes.

Blitz often, interrupt timing by pressing the corners. I don't like when Coyle calls blitzes but has the corners 10 yards off the receivers. I understand that limits the big play, but a roll of the dice is good sometimes.

Not to discount Eddie Lacy, but the key to a victory next week is holding Nelson and Cobb to minimal yards. Easier said than done, of course.

What's the best game plan for this? They aren't the kind of receivers that are going to overpower us with their size, but they are sure-handed, quick and precise route runners. When you combine that with a quarterback with pinpoint accuracy like Rogers, it can be lethal as what we saw last night.

With a (somewhat) stout run D such as ours, I presume they will resort to passing on most 2nd and 3rd downs, but if they can get the run going, the play action is going to kill us. That 66 yard bomb to Nelson last night is a fine example.

The key to this game for me will be our pass rush. If we can tear down that O Line and get Rodgers rattled, we will have a shot. If he's got time in the pocket he will pick us apart.

What are your thoughts on the best way to shut down A Rod?
Dare them to run and let our D-line earn their reputation. They are good. If that doesn't work and we have to bring up an extra man in the box we are done IMO. Sometimes it's that simple. This might be a good challenege for Grimes to rise to. He has been solid, but has he been as good as last year? This may shake him up a bit as a competitor.

The only way we "control" Rodgers is pressure him early and often. There is no way we can scheme or beat them on the back end. But I'd say the good news is we are good up front and they aren't that good up front.

Key: Wake can't have one of those games he disappears.

I totally agree. I wouldn't play press but play off man just not so far. Nelson and Cobb will take a 8 yard cushion with Rodgers throwing for saints all day on us. On ball or 2-3 yard off without pressing wouldn't be bad as I'm not totally scared of Nelson's speed. I definitely would be doubling and rolling coverage to both. The one thing GB is missing is a scary TE. I think that helps us in this matchup. The key in this game is stopping Lacey, GB like to run out of nickel lots. That will be a challenge.

Coyle had no answers for Alex Smith and the "Now-benched" EJ Manuel.... You actually believe he will game plan to stop a future hall of fame QB in Rodgers?

The Apeman had joe mcnight in his pocket. our LB situation is changed. Jones back to make Wilson a better player/tackler. Rogers doesnt know our defense as well as he knows his own division.

Zone read their D to death. SF and Seattle handed it to them and we can to if we can execute by catching the ball and blocking well, which we have been doing very well with our TE's and OL. Big diff from last year by miles and miles.

They beat the snot out of Minny by winning the LOS. I started watching the Minny DL and they were horrible. Minny is exposed regardless of Ponder.

Green Bay has a poor rushing attack.....they are the worst team in the league at stopping the run.

We simple establish our strong running game....put pressure on Rogers, don't turn the ball over....we win.

Seattle and Detroit contained Rogers...and shut their running game down...we must do the same.

The Jets did not contain Rogers, nor did the Bears.

The Vikings largely did contain Rogers...but let Green Bays crappy running game go off....and stunk offensively.

We are built to beat them....and we will, if Lazor calls a good game and RT executes.

blitz early and often. Gb's oline has looked awful and Wake going against sherrod can be deadly to the packers. If we can hold their offense, we should be able to win. Their defense might be the worst in the league so that should give our defense a little breathing room.

Smack lacy im the mouth and remind him of his concussions.

Seriously, you let lacy get going and there offense will drop 35 on you with ease.

Force them to throw when YOU want them to, and you can own them, thats how det and sea shut them down.
