Kiwaukee Thomas signed (rumor?)

I can confirm that I was the second person to enter the thread, I clicked on the link, and it said we had signed him. We probably did and they took it off until the official announcement.

Another tidbit on him that I found in The Sporting News' preview:

"Kiwaukee Thomas again will be the nickel corner. He is a solid defensive back whose strength is his ability to play zone coverage."

Mario Edwards was brought in for his zone ability as well. Nick did his homework!

Wait a second what? I thought his best ability was man to man coverage, but he could also hit like a hammer and sack the QB?

I know Edwards strength was definitely man to man.

When we signed Edwards, his agent said Nick wanted a big zone guy.

I changed the thread title for the time being since the Herald took it out. We'll have to see what happens.

sorry, didn't realize you needed war and peace to be rewritten......

if you read the rest of the thread, you'd know how he performed in college, that he's a good runner, and has pretty good hands out of the backfield. Somebody who can get the tough yards up the middle. The Pats fans were quite disappointed that they didn't even keep him on their 53 man squad

Leonard Henry averaged something like 8.0 YPC in college. Should he still be on our team? College production doesn't always translate to production in the NFL you should know that already. The Pats may have been dissapointed he didn't make their team but that doesn't mean they were hoping to see him play much. If you're telling me that he would be more valuable to our team than Minor you're kidding yourself.

Well Leonard Henry also played against some very weak competition. Gibson can atleast say he played in the SEC.

J.Cole had it on there now it's gone? Maybe he goofed or got ahead of himself.

I'm talking about Ecklel not Gibson

Makes no sense that he would put it on there if it was not true?

I dont get it.

And didnt we practice this morning from 11-1? If so, we will likely hear confirmation in the next few minutes when NS has his PC.

10 veterans were cut notably RB/KR David Allen apparently losing the kick return job to rookie receiver Chad Owens. Also crowd favorite Fuamatu-Ma’afala and CB Kiwaukee Thomas are among the veterans cut.

Well at least we know he was cut! So he was available.

David Allen is a better returner than Travis Minor.

Anything?
Notta, been searching everywhere. I hope we get this guy, i have seem him play hes pretty good. He would fit in on the nickle packages right away.

My thinking is he is practicing with the team as we speak (or from 11-1, whatever). Saban probably got pissed for Darlington mentioning "Mystery #35", who ended up being Chatman, so Cole decided to take it down and wait for the official announcement from the club, even if he saw the guy at practice/his name plate in the locker room or whatever. In any case, I dont see it NOT being true at this point, just waiting for confirmation.
