He's a steal for the amount of money we offered, as compared to what he wanted/expected. He's one of the best out there so I don't mind

I agree with LdoubleE80's assessment of the deal; a smart, low-risk one for Miami.

I personally still don't feel Knight will fit very well into Miami's defense, long-term (I'm concerned that we're going to have a return to the Brian Walker/Terrell Buckley days of corners appearing to get burned regularly because their help showed up late), but this is definitely a good contract situation for Miami to give the guy a real shot.
