these were 2 positions of need, and I'd rather have daniels cause, we could have orton throwing and get burned at D (even more than we were during preseason)..and even with orton we would not be contenders this year, so I like the ideia of letting the QB piece to be the last one of a puzzle that cannot be built in one year anyway..

That scenario is no worse than starting Gus Frerotte with no future in sight on roster. This probably means Frerotte will start next year unless we sign a free agent. Mc Fadden in second is a better pick than either of the LSU corners. Howard is by far the worst part of equation,

The same McFadden who I'm hearing is the 4th/5th CB for the Steelers this year? Every depth chart I see has him listed as the THIRD LCB.

No offense but until this OL can play above the 'crap' level no QB is going to survive behind it. If you've even seen my prior posts I was pointing out the whole fact that if we had gotten Webster we could have had Orton in the 4th.

I'm still an advocate of taking one of the premier LT's in the draft with our high #1 next year and then trading up from the 2nd to the end of the first to get a sliding QB or a rising one ala Campbell this year.

It's just utterly stupid to argue 20/20 hindsight at this point. Heck it still is until the season is over. For all we know Orton goes out there and bombs and Daniels plays excellent or vice versa.

Saban's got a lot to fix and he can't do it all at once. Heck he probably won't get it all fixed next offseason either. This is an aging team that needs a huge influx of quality youth.
