La Canfora: Dolphins exploring Dion Jordan, Mike Wallace and Cameron Wake trade

Trade Wallace, Jordan and Wake to help fix the offensive line. But in turn create holes on the defensive line and at wide receiver. Doesn't make sense.

He must still think Ireland is here.

I could buy trading Wake. He can command some good value in the draft and is closing in on the end of his tenure in Miami

top 5 pick plus some or I tell teams to get f'd. He's a proven pass rusher and who is better than him? maybe 2/3 guys, maybe

If I'm not mistaken his contract is also VERY...VERY...generous.

The original team still has to eat the bonus money.

The reason why we would get relief from a Wallace trade is because the bonus money that we would eat would be offset (and then some) by the annual salary we would save.

Have you seen his contract? There is no salary relief with him.

Year Base S. Bonus Misc. Cap Hit Dead
2013 405,000 3,335,420 - 3,740,420 15,501,680
2014 495,000 3,335,420 845,104 4,675,524 16,831,880
2015 585,000 3,335,420 1,690,210 5,610,630 7,930,840
2016 675,000 3,335,420 2,535,315 6,545,735 4,010,420

Which was why I said my original statement, but the article says something different.

I could see us trading Wake OR Jordan, but not both.

I'd rather trade Wake due to the age and money. Jordan and Vernon should be the 1-2 punch for the next decade

Tomorrow's March 1st, not April 1st so I don't get the joke. If Ireland was still the GM the I could see it happening. He always loved buying high and selling low.

Ozzy rules!!

I give national reporters a lot of leeway, but LaCanfora just lost all my respect in a single swipe. Jordan is untradeable because of salary cap considerations. Wallace, OrlandoFin, according to overthecap, has a 15 million base salary this year, so there would only be a small cap hit. But still! And Wake is one the greatest bargains in the NFL. And we're supposed to be trading him?

I will never give any credence to another LaCanfora story again. What an unprofessional buffoon.

JLC is worse than the bubblegum that you step on in the parking lot, and no matter what you do, you cannot scrape it off.

RT @NealDriscoll The #Dolphins aren't really trading Wake, Wallace, or Jordan. Please tell me that> just putting chum in the water I suspect

lol even more bs from his new article, hinting at a total teardown/rebuild of roster. Potentially looking to trade any of Wake/Wallace/Jordan:

"and word continues to make the rounds among GMs that the Dolphins may end up moving a more established player, like Wallace or Wake, to be positioned to move up; and select an elite tackle in this draft, or to address other issues on the roster."

None of that makes any sense! guy is a ****tard, hence the reason he doesn't work in the D.C area anymore because he would spread the same stuff

Right now in the NFL teams are calling each other gossiping, trying to figure out what everyone is doing, what the market for positions are.

I just read online that Jordan is allegedly in phase 1 of league drug abuse program for failing drug test. Anyone hear anything about that. Was a surprise to me

Come on if you read it you can at least provide a link before saying something like that.

Thats a cap hit and dead money for is we cut him. If we trade Wallace there is cap relief because we only eat the signing bonus, not the entire guaranteed amount in the contract.

We would eat the prorated signing bonus we gave him ($11 million over 5 years) for the remaining 4 years of his contract at $8.8 million dollars, however we would not have to pay him the $15 million annual salary he is owed this year. Trading him would give us a net savings of $6.2 million dollars.
