Is Chad Ochocinco going to be a Dolphin?
We really need another thread on this HUGE news. His veteran min salary is only $940,000 per season. Do not listen to these "fancy" expects with their "book learning", use of "logic" and "football knowledge". At only $1 million a season, Chad Ochocinco is a steal. Sure, chances are that the will not help the Dolphins as a team and he will drain away time and money best spent else where. However, it might give HBO higher ratings with this season's Hard Knocks. And that is what is important!
Sure, he has lost a step or two and has a problem understanding a playbook. But really, how smart do you have to be to play for the Dolphins? I mean OK, a WR in a WCO offense like most offense is supposed to be able to make a change in his routes in relation to the defense and has to make the same read as the QB but I'm sure we can dumb it down to fit Chad's...uh...skills.
After all, what is a million dollars between home boys.

- [h=4]With his best days behind him, Ochocinco will have trouble finding work[/h] I don't think Ochocinco will quickly land with a new team. There are several reasons why, but here are the main three:
1) Very few teams are interested in distractions and sideshows. Despite being on his best behavior for Bill Belichick, there is still a concern that he will turn back to his attention-craving persona of the past.
2) He has lost his explosiveness. That is the trait that made him so dangerous during his productive years in Cincinnati. He was never a technician as a route runner.
3) It wasn't a secret that Ochocinco struggled with the playbook in New England. That is going to turn off a lot of teams that are looking for a veteran to work with their younger receivers.

- [h=4]Ochocinco's NFL days could very well be over[/h] I would not be surprised if it was over. Ochocinco's physical skills have diminished, and he is not a disciplined enough route runner to overcome this decline. Also, when you sign a veteran receiver at the end of his career, you want him to be a leader. Chad is not a leader. He is not a starter and can't help on special teams.
I think this is it for Ochocinco. I would not sign him.
Chad Ochocinco is out, while
Jabar Gaffney,
Donte Stallworth,
Deion Branch remain as potential
Tom Brady targets. [Gaffney, Stallworth and Branch are all] 30-something, but they all have Brady's trust, get to the places they're supposed to be, and don't have to be told where to go, which was still happening during this season's OTA workouts for Ochocinco. On at least one occasion, Branch still had to point him to the right spot. Even newcomer
Brandon Lloyd seems to be in more sync with Brady than Ochocinco ever was. ... He didn't have the kind of football intelligence you need to adjust to all that goes on with the
Patriots offense, then read the defense, and be where Brady expects you to be. He just never got it.

Belichick’s traded a pair of picks (2012 fifth-rounder, 2013 sixth-rounder) to Cincinnati for Ochocinco. The Bengals turned that 166th pick this year into Cal wide receiver Marvin Jones, who is in the mix to win a starting spot opposite A.J. Green.
Thursday, The Patriots released Ochocinco. —
New England cut the mercurial wide receiver after reportedly trying (and failing) to trade him.
Ochocinco agreed to reduce his base salary for this upcoming season from $3 million to $1 million, but even that move couldn’t save his roster spot. The 34-year-old Ochocinco struggled throughout the 2011 season trying to grasp New England’s high-flying offense and, even into recent minicamps,
reports told of him screwing up even the most basic premises of the playbook.
