Both parties are to blame? LOL, that's classic!

Did you read what I wrote? Obviously Martin isn't to blame for getting bullied. But there's still a way to deal with your problems without losing your integrity as he did.

Listen, you stepped to insulting me first because I was unaware of how the NFLPA figures into the locker room ( I imagine this is hardly common fan knowledge). That doesn't change the fact that coaches and the organization slipped up in letting this happen.

What does having voicemails from april say about martin? If he has an iphone (or any modern smartphone) voicemails are there. I still have voicemails from last year.

Martin felt he was wronged and went about his remediation the wrong way. He saved his 'blue dress' for when he needed it. And I guess April 2013 it wasn't needed, now was it?

Well originally it looked like he was just leaving the team and getting treatment. Initially one getting publicly shamed was martin. The dolphins then denied any knowledge of bullying or mistreatment in the locker room. I would say they painted martin into a PR corner.

that's a good point, but we don't know if Martin had intended on revealing this either way. and perhaps the Dolphins genuinely didn't know it was this bad in regards to bullying.

My other problem with this is why would Martin continually hang out with Incognito after the April voicemails?

The two of them also participated in pranking Samuda. If the issue bothered him that much when it happened, why would he be hanging around Nola with the man who did it to him?

While what happened was wrong, I think Martin is using this to his advantage to compensate for his frustrations with being kicked to RT.

Was thinking the same thing... u never no how much power cog had over him or if martin is just looking for attention. .. but if all is true n martin was really that scared I think he was keeping his enemy as close as possible

Or he could have just left them in his phone. There is so much storage on modern smartphones that I have texts and voice mails from last year. I am not saving them for a purpose, they just have no need to be deleted.

maybe martin thought It would stop and never reported it, maybe he didn't wanna look like a snitch to the rest of the team and eventually he just snapped

Yea he was probably trying to make the bully like him. This is not uncommon in bullying.

Where is the report saying Martin took this information to the organization and they didn't do anything about it? Do we know who specifically was told the details?

This team can not catch a break. Once again we're the talk of the town but in a bad way.

Ozzy rules!!

He could've gone to the player rep and said something. No Martin is a victim for sure.

But how this is playing out may take out more people than just Incognito. If coaches and front office staff lose their jobs because Martin couldn't have stood up and said something that will be sad. Very sad.

Taking the proper course of action, filing a grievance with the NFLPA and the team would've cleared this up long ago.

I say this not because I am defending Richie or Martin. I am sick of this organization being tarnished by a series of people who go about things the wrong way.

Incognito was way wrong.

If the front office knew and did nothing, that's way wrong.

Martin had avenues open to him. Him "keeping" the evidence is something I'm sure his lawyer parents told him to do... just for such a circumstance.

As much as Incongito acts like a piece of ****, I don't put it past anyone to use whatever ammunition they can to benefit from this. I suspect a lawsuit is forthcoming when Martin finds that finding work in the NFL may never be as harmonious as he'd like.

Honestly, how sac-less is Philbin? How could he allow this to happen? Where is the leadership on this team? Tannehill? Anyone?

I STILL want to know WHEN the text was sent?

I STILL want to know why the lunchroom prank sent him off the ledge?

I STILL want to know why Martin had to take the path he did and become the biggest distraction in the league?
You're starting to sound like one of those people who blame girls for being rape victims.

How about roughing up and standing up to Incognito?
Why should anyone have to get into a fistfight at work? And when someone is making threats against your family, you don't want to set them off and give them a reason to do something stupid to someone you love.

Because if he is so offended, why wait until now?
Come on, you can say "Why now?" no matter when he reacted.

Can you NOT READ?

Every team has a PLAYER REP. A rep who is basically a UNION steward on the job site. That player rep is there to ensure a safe work place. The NFLPA isn't the LAST LINE of defense, its the first. Its why they have reps on EVERY TEAM in EVERY locker room. Do you not understand how a Union works on a job site?

That same rep is Incognito's rep too, yes? And that rep is going to try to protect both players, yes?
I'm in a union. I was a union rep for some years.

You don't know how aware anyone else was of this. To outside appearances, things were apparently fine.

Other players on the OL indicated that things seemed normal between the two of them.

Unless Philbin was previously made aware of these texts and voicemails, how else would he have known?
