Let's be honest he ran behind an awful O'line and IMO, Sherman would give up on the run far too early.

With a decent pick up at LT, 1st round draft pick and a more varied, patient offense, I think Miller could be our featured RB.

Miller goes down too easily. He plays like he is 180 instead of 215. Having a better line in front of him will definitely help, but he needs to have competition in training camp after this season's performance.

I don't think he won any one on one battles on either side of the line of scrimmage.
Good change of pace guy.
Can improve catching and blocking.

BUT to get the yards he did behind that line I think he deserves another shot.

Let's be honest he falls down after contact (never forwards)

Hands are average to good

Can't pick up blocks - hold blocks - or even get in the way - and I am not sure he is smart eough tp pick up the entire Offense

He is best served as a stop gap player - running off tackle and sweeps - the odd screen (all to spell a complete back)

I agree to some degree, its unfair to condemn the RB or the QB behind the joke of an O-line they played behind this year.

With that said, I don't believe Miller is a workhorse back, and would be better suited as a change of pace complimentary back.

if miller is good enough to be an every down back, he will shine in training camp and earn it. if not, he won't.

it's on him to play better than his RB peers and beat them. They are running behind the same lines against the same defense in training camp.

Lamar Miller has no vision. He often missed holes that had he followed, the OL was moving to the second level and he would have had nice gains. Of course many want him to be the featured back because he is local but he hasn't shown the ability to be anything other than a change of pace guy. Miami has to bring in a guy that can handle the load because what's on the roster can't.

I wish we had a back like Marshawn Lynch, hardly ever goes down on the first hit, keeps fighting to the end. I know his kind is hard to find. In the old days you had a good many around that would fight to get all the yardage they could, Csonka, John Riggins, Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, etc. Man, miss the good old days.

I saw Lamar Miller run pretty hard towards the end of the season after Daniel Thomas had that huge game. I was actually surprised at how often he lowered his head and looked for contact, but for most of the season he ran extremely soft. If the whole wasn't there he just went down. I think he deserves another chance but he should have to earn it.

Why is everything the coordinators or coaches fault. What about the execution of the player. Lamar "Shoe string" Miller couldn't break a tackle if it came out of a bird (egg). Good players make a way and make others look better around them. He has no vision and needs competition in training camp to ensure we are fielding the best rb.

Lamar Miller is not a premiere back. He is not big enough and his speed and instincts do not outweigh his lack of size.

To summarize from yesterday's thread. Miller has good hands, catching 26 of 30 for 170 with only 1 drop. He caused 20 missed tackles on 177 runs, which is average. He had an average of 2.1 yards after contact, with the average at 2.25. He ranked #7 in pass protect, while not being good. It's become a lost art. In these things he is no worse than most NFL starting RB's.

However, I did not think he consistently ran hard, especially in the first half, did not hit the few holes as quickly as he should have, and agree with others on his vision.

My jury is still out, and I want to see what he can do this year with some better run blocking. He runs left more than right, and in 2012 he was going behind Long, Cog, and Pouncey showing promise as a starter. This year he ran behind "fill in the blanks" and the worst Phins run blocking I have ever seen.
