Lamar Miller getting raw deal??

It's saying something that Daniel Thomas had a more memorable highlight (long run in Pitt) than Miller had all year

Please.... Not even Adrian Peterson could run behind that oline. Absolutely horrible offensive line...

Give the guy 1 hole and he'll give you an automatic first down. He's fast and shifty and hits holes with no dancing. He's not a power runner, obviously, that's not his forte. Get a big bruising back for that 3rd/4th down and inches and let Miller get the majority of runs for the big gains. If that line gets fixed he'll show what he can do..

AP could run behind that line if he needed to. He would at least win the one on one battles that Lamar Miller can't. Not getting on you, but I'm tired of fans blaming the coaches and coordinators for poor execution by the players. I know the offensive line consist of players, but they are not solely responsible for the lack of a running game if the RB has no vision or tackle breaking skills.

I was thinking Lamar Miller was getting a raw deal...UNTIL Daniel Thomas started outshining him late in the season (which is a problem within itself). LM is nothing more then a change of pace back, had his opportunity and didn't get it done. Would love to draft Tre Mason, that guy runs hard as hell!

I don't think Miller is going to get cut this off season, maybe traded, but not cut. He will have an opportunity again come training camp, but it would be foolish not to bring in more competition for the RB position.

Miller is a good mix of pace back......but I think could still develop into a decent every down back. I agree with the numerous comments about the o-line being fixed, that much is obvious. However, Miller also needs some competition to push him harder. He doesn't appear to run with attitude or a chip on his shoulder and he needs to. He has natural skills....but I don't see that killer instinct yet.

I don't think it's a lack of attitude; it's simply a lack of power. I cannot begin to count how many times I saw him fly towards a hole only to be knocked flat on his keester by an arm tackle. I mean, he wanted the hole, he hit it, but he simply didn't have the natural power/leverage to get through it. Sad really.

Speaking of which, how do you think Buffalo feels about seeing Marshawn playing with Seattle in the Super Bowl?

Buffalo must have somebody that knows running back talent with Spiller and Jackson and having Lynch previously. I'd imagine Buffalo is happy for him though jealous.

To me it boils down to he wrote a check with his mouth that he didn't cash(now given the o-line was crap but there were times he had a easy hole but pulled the ol reggie bush and danced around while it closed). The media hyped him up, Frank Gore hyped him up, we bought into it and no matter what, he wasn't going to get those numbers with the way the offense was shown to be ran in the first year. Not saying he is Fred Jackson or CJ Spiller but he could fit that type of role of Spiller if he hits the weight room and works on power instead of tap dancing. We don't need a every down back, we rarely see those in this era of NFL, if we could get somebody that can hit it hard on 1st down and pick us up 3-5 yards instead of Lamar forcing himself into middle of piles or those god awful quick hit throws to Wallace 5 yards behind LOS then we would have a wide range of plays open up for 2nd and 3rd down. The team let Reggie go because they felt they saw same things in Lamar, much like Reggie, he is going to get 2-3 yards or even some negative plays but when he breaks one rather it's a run or check down pass, it's going to be worth it

MIller doesn't like contact, if there are no clear lanes with blockers AHEAD of him he seems to usually hesitate before hitting the hole.

The only time he really slams it in there is when there aren't any tacklers in sight.

Maybe he was guarding an injury, but there were a number of games where he didn't seem very eager to slam it in there & run past his blockers

Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas combined dont equal a NFL Running Back. Hopefully get a Dude who runs with a Dick instead of a Vagina, and get Tannehill some help.

I wish we had a back like Marshawn Lynch, hardly ever goes down on the first hit, keeps fighting to the end. I know his kind is hard to find. In the old days you had a good many around that would fight to get all the yardage they could, Csonka, John Riggins, Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, etc. Man, miss the good old days.

Robert Turbin isn't Lynch, but he's also a physical RB.

Someone to look at in the draft who might be available in the 3rd or 4th round is Antonio Andrews of Western Kentucky. He's gonna be a stud.
