Lamar Miller sucks

Heh you all can be so ridiculous. Miller fills a limited role which can be very valuable. He's not Knowshon. He's not a Duke Johnson. But he's fantastic as a change of pace back and 2nd RB. He showed well this last game and can be damn effective in this offense.

There's no doubt Moreno is stronger, tougher and flat out a more physical runner than Miller. Lamar is just too much finesse. He's a fast guy but nothing special yet.

He could still be very good and Joe knows it. I like the RB combo Knowshon and Lamar.
There will probably be some games where Knowshon isn't a beast and Lamar will make a bigger contribution.
Miller was a decent 4th round value Draft pick, irrespective of whether Ireland or Hickey picked him.
I totally agree with this EXCEPT I'm not ready to come back to reality yet and still expect Knowshon to keep being a beast every second of every game.

I like miller on those RB quick out passes to the flat where he can beat a LB with superior speed. (like his great TD grab where he just out ran the LB) I also like him as a change of pace back who should be able to keep defenses honest on the edges. Teams can really do well with a bruiser like Moreno and a speed guy like Miller. I think miller needs to get better though and obviously protect the ball better.

I think he can be better than last year in a more limited role in Lazor's offense. He also showed improvment on staying upright after initial contact. If he proves us wrong or keeps fumbling, Next man up. Williams/ Darkwa step on up..

cj spiller and fred Jackson were a beast like this. spiller got his 10-12 carries a game and Jackson took the bulk, it worked out best for spiller rather than trying to be a feature back. I really think miller can have some games were he hits the 100 yard mark himself. hopefully he'll hit a homerun or two this year. and the one where he fumbled, well "it was a great run right up until the point you fumbled the ball!"

I get the fumble was frustrating.....but he ran the ball well yesterday and the presence of Moreno seems to have elevated his play. Let's see what he can do this year.....I wouldn't be surprised if he has a big year.
I agree he ran better after Moreno came in. I have serious concerns about his concentration. If this was a one off, ok. But recall his great run last year against cincy - zigging and zagging all over the field for 40 something yards then got hit (similar to the other day) when he should have expected it and coughed it up inside the 10.

I believe my concerns are justified here - I'm rooting for the kid but I am skeptical.

I agree, Miller sucks. As I have been saying for 2 years, Miller only gets the yards his OL gives him. He never makes his own yards. And that fumble was terrible. Should have 2 hands on the ball in traffic at all times. If he gets 5 to 10 carries a game, I'm ok with that, but he should never be the feature back.

This thread is pathetic and sad. Our team just beat the AFC favorite to go to the Super Bowl, and you want to bitch & moan about what you mistakenly think is a bad game by a RB. You should reallyy look to a different team, if you have not already. LOL

Just because we won 1 game doesn't mean we can ignore bad plays. Calling out Lamar Miller for that fumble is perfectly ok, and I dont think someone has to "find another team" because they "bitch and moan" about a goal line fumble. You can bet that every poster on this forum was bitching and moaning about it when it happened. Even if we win the game, turnovers still matter, and there is nothing blasphemous about talking about our bad plays even after a win.

Good Lord!!! guy gets over 5 per carry and there's still a thread titled "Miller Sucks". What a bunch of useless nonsense.

Kind of like that game where Phillip Wheeler has 12 tackles, a sack, and 2 passes defended last year. It would have been wrong to say he sucks after posting lofty stats in 1 game?

His AVG was helped by the long run he had - which he fumbled at the end of. Kind of like the long run he fumbled on last year against cincy. He has concentration issues. Any legit RB would have covered that ball up - you know the hit is coming. To me these are troublesome signs.

Yes we won, yes I've been on a high all week. I watched the highlights 15 times already. We won't win a lot of games turning it over three times in the first half. I really think that fumble was terrible and killed a scoring drive. And I have yet to see this kid contribute in a way that makes up for a bad play here or there.

Might want to refer to CrazyDolfan305 post #28 on someone's opinion on the matter that really counts.

Hint: Starts with an "L" and ends with "azor".

After the very first game of a new season with a new OC and completely new scheme, yes it absolutely would have. We aren't talking about a good game mixed with a ton of bad. First game.
