And as much as I think Lance is COOL, I'd prefer Sammy. Some of those hits were just nasty and he did some big things, although lacking major second gear speed.
 
Schulters is better than Brock Marion. Schulters when healthy is a complete FS.
 
Knight was a playmaker at times, which catches attention, but he allowed way too many big passing plays as well. Too many touchdowns were scored with him trailing behind for me to feel bad about losing him. I always liked Arturo Freeman to be honest, he seemed to come up with key interceptions when we needed them.

Schulters is better suited at FS then SS...you would have to compare Knight and Jones... so, at this point, having only Jones reputation to go on, I'd take him over Knight...Knight was a definitly a liability in Wanny's scheme (poor pass coverage). Jones would also have been a liability in Wanny's scheme. Jones played very well for several years in BB scheme, which will be very similar to what we play this year, so he may be able to do a better job than he has done at NO....
 
I'd take Schulters at FS over Sammy at SS right now... that is mainly based on the fact that Tebucky Jones will be better at SS.
 
I wish we had kept Auturo, but sammy can go, because, he was (chicky chicky chicky) too slow....
 
me too... i like arturo, i thought he could play and that he had a rough deal with wanny
 
Guys, you are forgetting one important thing. Lance is a Free Safety, and Sammy was a Strong Safety.
 
I for one am glad we cleaned house with our safeties. I want to see what Lance can do in our defensive scheme. Heck, I just want to see our defensive scheme.
 
I'd love to have Shulters at FS, and Sammy at SS. Can't get much better than that.

I don't know about that..From the training camp reports, Bua gets beat very very often. I don't think he makes this team. Probably, that new LB Jason Glenn takes his spot on special teams.

Knight is strictly an in the box SS who lacks the ability to cover downfield. Outside the box he becomes a huge liability. Other than speed he and Schulters are similar players but lance gets the edge because of his speed.
