Last holdout... headcase???

Kind of funny - he seemed upset that he didn't get drafted by Miami, Braylon Edwards was upsed that we didn't draft him and I'm SURE that Rodgers was disappointed we didn't take him. We're just too popular for our own good.

yea we are just too cool for school but we sure as hell couldnt say that when wanny was here .
by the has anyone seen my ridding lawn mower it is a john deere f710 last seen it was on a diving board at a local swiming pool how it got there I will never know ! and i have been sober sine the days of adam and eve.[/QUOTE]

boy you Oklahoma boys know how to party!

i don't know how you justify it, last year's #4 was a QB. a QB's life expectancy in the NFL is twice as long as a running back, and the QB position is arguably more important than a RB, therefore a QB gets more $$$.

they already have a decent back, I'd tell him to go fly a kite and come back after he's sorted his sh*t out...

is that ronnie brown?!?! he looks like an absolute bad a$$!

if he's going to look that intense, maybe he shouldn't wear the visor on his helmet.

One HS girlfriend (who wouldn't give it up).
One college girlfriend (who gave it up... to everybody).

Haha didnt most of us have those same problems?
Cause in my days high school girls wouldnt give it up and all college girls did. Times seem a little different these days though.

edwards guaranteed $$$ is 18.5 million while cadillac is 13.115.

benson should just take 15-16 guaranteed and just freaking live with it.

My mistake was (all you younger fans, pay attention now) that I "locked in" on one girl at totally the wrong time (college).

I have a friend that calls this disease "one-itis".

Whatever your age, do yourself a favor, AVOID this dis-ease at all cost. Date several women at a time until one of them separates herself from the crowd.

And, believe it or not, most intelligent women worth having will be totally cool with this because if you end up picking them to date exculsively, you'll be picking them above others rather than "locking in" on them from the start (usually out of desperation).

My $0.02 on the madness of love.

For those (like me) that (before the combine) considered/hoped that the 'Fins would draft Cedric Benson... read this:

:goof:

I think we lucked out with who we have (Brown).

But, most of all, I think we lucked out with who we DON'T have.

I still remember Benson crying when he got drafted by the Bears. I knew right then and there that we'd drafted right.

Yep, all the warning signs were there, we not only got the most talented runner in this draft, we got the one with the most character too.

From all that I've read about Ronnie, we may have landed the player with the most character... nevermind the best running back! :D

how things have changed...

just a few days ago, people here were saying, "to hell with brown.". "we dont need him." "greedy". "we dont want to pay him a huge contract."

then you sign him and everyone is happy. and "he has great character".

now benson is still holding out, and its "headcase", and "we are lucky we didnt get him."

i didnt see any numbers in that article. maybe the bears are just trying to lowball him.

i blame the bears organization. not Benson. i feel bad for him, to be in this situation. cus the only real options for him is to eather sign the low contract, or sit out the season.

OK, I REALLY hoped for the guy too, as I'm sure everyone remembers cuz there were some heated posts by me, lol, and, even though he is still holding out, I'm not glad we didn't take him. Not saying I'm not excited about Brown and everything, cuz I am, VERY excited, and I have gotten used to him being our RB, I'm just saying what he is doing in chicago doesn't make me sigh a sigh of relief cuz we didn't take him. For one, who's to say this would even be happeneding if he came to Miami? It could just be that he REALLY doesn't wanna be a bear and is trying to get as much $ as possible to play for em (not saying I defend it, just giving scenerios, I think whoever drafts you is who you play for, you know going into the draft that you don't get to pick where you go, unless your name is Eli Manning), or maybe the deal isn't even a good one, comparable to everyone else's deals. Has anyone seen the offer? I haven't seen the terms offered to him so I can't say wether it's a shoddy deal or not, but that could be a factor. Also, people are kinda bashing him for STILL holding out, well, up until Monday our very own 1st round pick was still a holdout, so really Benson has only been holding out for 3 more days than Ronnie yet he is being called a "headcase" among other things. As far as him crying at the draft, that is an emotional time for people, you just succeeded in your lifelong dream, not only that, but now you are wealthy beyond belief, that's a lot to take in all at once. So he had a hard time dealing with the Ricky comparisons, so what. People handle things differently, some keep a stone cold demeanor, others show their emotions, neither makes you less of a person. Besides, would YOU wanna go through your whole career/life being compared to someone else? Having all your accomplishments being likened to another persons? Of course not, you wanna be known for YOU and not "wow he is so much like so-and-so" so I can see why EVERYTHING he did being compared to Ricky got to him, especially once al the negative publicity started surrounding Ricky. Just because Cedric was another great RB from Texas and had dreads does not mean he was gonna follow suit with Ricky and go to the NFL, be a bust, then quit for weed yet that's all you heard before the draft. While I'm not completely defending his holdout because I think any athlete who is going to get paid an INSANE amount of $ for a game shouldn't be finicky about an extra million when they already get 30, I can understand it to a degree and don't think they are a mental case etc etc for it.

Easy there, Turbo. Make sure you make it clear who you're addressing because I, for one, didn't say anything during Brown's holdout (I barely ever say anything at all). So kindly specify/direct your observations accordingly and bear in mind that I initiated this thread and (for obvious reasons) see your post as directed toward me personally. If I'm mistaken, cool. Otherwise, please re-direct.

Thanks!

i would rather have a player cry when drafted, then cry when getting yelled at be a coach.

hell i still remember TO crying when making the game winning TD reception for the 49ers in the playoffs. (he dropped several balls during that game).
