Lazor hints that offense has not shown it's hand

I think the offense is gonna surprise the hell outta people sunday.

Me too. But, even if its the greatest system ever devised the players still need to make it go. That could be up for debate though because its certainly possible Foles wouldn't have had some of the greatest stats the league has ever seen outside of Kelly's system.

Barry Jackson article on same subject:

The men who will be running the Dolphins’ offense and defense stepped behind the podium Monday and offered measured optimism about their units, and in Bill Lazor’s case, an element of mystery.

For competitive reasons, Lazor understandably declined to say why the Dolphins have not often, in the preseason, showcased the fast-pace offense that some players expected or how much of an uptempo attack will be used during the regular season.

“The strategy of how we would like to approach each game, we will probably keep those to ourselves,” Lazor said.

Hall of Fame quarterback Bob Griese said that the Dolphins intend to play at a faster pace beginning in Sunday’s opener against New England at Sun Life Stadium.

But Lazor, in his first year as Mike Sherman’s replacement, was very clear about this: He expects more from Lamar Miller, who is competing with Knowshon Moreno for the starting running back job.

Miller averaged 3.4 yards on 14 preseason carries, and “we’re expecting to have more production, just the numbers,” Lazor said. “I’ve seen lots on the practice field that tell me where we’re headed with Lamar, and I feel very good about it. But if you’re talking about the preseason games, his production needs to improve.”

He wants Miller “to be decisive in the backfield. I have no doubts about how explosive and productive he can be in space.”

Regarding Moreno, who ran for 64 yards on 10 carries in his one preseason game against Dallas, Lazor said: “You can’t argue with the fact that in the amount of time he has been on the field for us, he has been [productive]. I feel great about where he is, feel great about how he played against Dallas. Look forward to seeing more of it.”

Lazor likes how Ryan Tannehill has developed: “You are talking about a guy that has the desire to be great and the desire to work at it.

“[His] work off the field, he’s done a great job with that. … We try to put him in really hard positions in practice to get him ready to do that in a game.”

That is awesome...however I want Brady uncomfortable. Even if you can't get there, if you can get at his feet he can get very unsettled.

Well I guess somebody had to "same old dolphins" it. Geez, is logical optimism too hard?

History has proven this very thing. He starts seeing ghosts and hearing footsteps...we need to rattle his ass early and often.

Of course they haven't shown there hand yet.

1st drive against Atl was what the offense is gonna be like.

That's a reasonable guess.

But with the opposition attacking and penetrating, unlike passive and unconcerned Atlanta. Should make for big plays and blown up plays.

It doesn't help belichek getting his d on and off the field - the O will move guys around on the LOS and wherever the Pats "shat the bed" with coverage Ryan is supposed to expose - so exactly how does Don Jones help the Pats? The Patsies can either make the adjustments or not.... if they have great players on D they should be able to counteract the O shifts - the hurry up in the heat - may be a factor but as we watched in horror with Tony Spaggatini the team was out of shape next to Bill's well oil machine of a few seasons ago

That's true, but with faster tempo opposing teams won't be able to be as disruptive.

Just dont want a bunch of fast tempo 3 and out's. We need Brady on the sideline.

I think both teams will try to use tempo to wear the opposing d out. The first few series will be vitally important and one early three and out by either offense could decide the game.

tempo needs to be faster than first drive against atlanta also...i'd love to see some no huddle but i think it will be like the eagles last year first year in that offense tempo wise...this year now that they got a year in it under their belts they arent huddling and are going even faster

makes a big difference...probably see that in 2015 for us also
