so manning comes in for two years and were relevant.
he retires, is injured or converts to quakerism within 2-3 years and then were right back to being irelevant?
then the question MUST be asked, is all this time, money and disruption worth it for a couple of iffy manning years?
i dont think so. and i dont think the finz brass do either. everyone is under the impression that miami wants him in the worst way and that boss ross and his boy wonder are dragging their feet and fuging the whole thing up.
or, maybe they know [as they should] that we are NOT a qb away from the bowl and taking a 60 million dollar risk on and old, injured peyton AND paying his aged band of merrymen is to much of a risk for this team and the brass's reputations should it fail to to pan out. that they were NEVER going after peyton and the owner not chasing peytons plane around is not a sign of ineptness but a sign that they are not interested in signing manning at all and never were!!
and thats the smart play. we need to build around this young, promising teams future and not throw it away on an extremely risky shot at some instant gratification. flynn is just as big a risk as he will cost a MAJOR bundle, expecially after luck, rg3 and peyton are gone. to big a risk for WAY to much money.
the cards have fallen where they have. the SMART play for this team, right now is to draft tannehill and let him come in and learn the philbin way from the ground up with matt moore. both of them get into camp at the start of this new regime and learn. and the best qb will win the job. moore is a MUCH better qb than most want to believe, he has been the victim of odd circumstances with crumbling teams and number games, not his play. with the solid experiance he has had with the starters, a full camp, reps with the starters in camp and he will suprise, big time. but tannehill IS a big time talent and in a year to two years, he could really be a force.
and that leaves us in a GREAT position with low investment and HI reward potential!!!
what if peyton didnt get released by the colts? we are no worse off or more "irelevant" than before. we had this great buzz and excitement happening not long ago with the new staff and the way the brass handled the the whole ordeal, life was good! the future was bright! now, if peyton doesnt sign, were doomed and ross and ireland are absolute complete idiots and fugged the whole thing up!!
help yourselves out. read a book or watch tv or surf you-tube for a few days. let this manning thing shake out how its going to and get off the up and down minute by minute rollercoaster. get your thoughts back on this good looking staff and the solid, productive scheme they will be installing [unless manning actually signs with us] and get back on board the philbin happy train!!
these anti miami writers and those who run the nfl/tv revenue and ratings are trying hard to make miami look like the worst decision in the world for peyton and its winding up and bumming out the fans. put it out of your mind and then worry about it, or cheer for it when and if it happens.
