League Sources: Daboll Favorite For Dolphins Job

I really hope for once this report is right.....then again he might be our top candidate but that doesn’t mean we're his favorite destination

I just don't see it. Taking the job in the same division and having Allen eviscerating him twice a year with 2 defenses rated in the top 5 and questions surrounding a GM who if you don't succeed right away is gonna have calls for your head. I think Miami would be Daboll's fall back option.

Wow. I remember when we ran Daboll out of town with pitchforks and torches the first time he was here.
What did he do? Oh yeah, offensive coordinator. He's still an offensive coordinator that we all want to make be the new HC of the team.
Awesome.
I always thought that was more the stupidity of those holding pitchforks and torches than b/c he did a bad job. I thought he maximized the talent we had on offense.

My only concern with that plan is that we may not still have everybody who was responsible for our defense the second-half of the season. We don't have Flores and I wonder how much he was involved with the D. The defense over the second-half of the season seemed more like the defense Flores ran in NE. I worry that the defense over the first half was our current defensive staff's doing and our D the second-half was due to Flo's influence. I have no idea if that is what happened. There were rumors, but never any confirmations.
I think the reason our defense was so much better in the 2nd half of the season was the schedule was much weaker......on that winning streak we beat ONE starting QB that wasn't a rookie. All the other games were against backups or rookie QB's.

To be clear…I’m not thrilled with Daboll. Am I happy it’s not Vance Joseph? Yes….Very much so. However, Daboll just doesn’t seem like the best guy for the job to me. What has he done besides calling plays for one of the best QB’s in the league??

I’ve said it before….I want a coach that makes his players better every week. A strategic thinker that will out-coach other coaches. A HC that makes me say “Damn….That was an amazing call”. Think….The Hook and Lateral against San Diego or the Fake Spike against the New York Jest. When is the last time we can say one of our HC’s out coached a good opponent? The Ronnie Brown Wild Cat game against the Patriots? Other than that….I can’t remember one.

Is Daboll that guy? I don’t know….But right now I don’t get that vibe from him. I may be wrong….I’ve been wrong before. If it’s not Harbaugh…I was kind of thinking McDaniel was a young version of that guy and might be fun to take a chance on.

Anyway…. As I always say….”We’ll See”
It’s hilarious how all of a sudden Josh Allen was always this amazing QB and Daboll had nothing to do with his development, but at the same time McDaniel seems to be 100% responsible for the 49ers offensive success, even though he doesn’t even call the plays.

McDaniel might end up being a great hire, don’t get me wrong… but if you’re looking at objective, quantifiable reasons to hire someone, Daboll trumps McDaniel every day of the week.

If he has confidence in himself, I doubt that's his fear. My guess is that the biggest factor is whether he (and his family) wants to live in NY or Miami.

Our scheme's were definitely different though. Maybe Holland's development allowed more flexibility/complexity, but there is no question our defense changed.

You would think they would have hired him by now if they wernt looking around.

Adam Beasley has confirmed the report. Daboll is the favorite.

well, the whole team is pretty young so there's a chance they got better as the season went on of course.

this might not be too bad... Daboll HC
Ken Dorsey offensive coordinator.
Wink Martindale defensive coordinator.

That's the rumor floating...
