And common sense tells you not to talk trash without your helmet on within striking distance. He could have got that jaw broken.Or something else.
Doesn't make you a better person if you are adding fuel to the fire. There is that term "Turn the other cheek".
If the Boise State player deserves a suspension for talking trash after the game then Blount and the Oregon QB should have been suspended before the game.
He will be on a NFL roster guaranteed, he's too talented not to make it, a team will take a chance on himway to blow your chance at the NFL
Both sides were talking trash, so by your logic everybody known to have talked trash should be suspended including Boise State players. You act like the Boise ST player had no participation at all in this.He even tapped him a couple times if you watch the tape.So really it goes past him talking trash.I would even label it taunting. He can expect to get smashed on especially after all the trash that was talked. You cannot taunt losing opponents and think they will not react. You even get penalized for that during an actual game.
Was Blount wrong for what he did?Sure, but don't suspend him for the whole season, and let the instigator walk away with no punishment at all.And yes Blount ****ED up and now he has to pay the price for it. What he did was cowardly and childish, and there is no place on the field for children or cowards. He disgraced himself, his team and his family.Forget apologies, try growing up and being a man for once instead, of an impulsive child.
You're wrong. Nobody on the Boise State team said anything resembling trash talk before the game. Coach Peterson doesn't let his players talk to the media like that. After the game, Hout just threw it back in Blount's face (which was wrong) but if you dish it out, don't be a crybaby when it comes back at you.
If Blount wants to make it in the NFL he's got to get a thicker skin. NFL defensive players will make "How was that *** whoopin'?" look like a compliment.
Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder asked reporters around his locker to cast a journalistic light on what he considered an inequity.
``No names, but there was an incident in college football, where somebody talked junk, somebody retaliated and got suspended for the entire year,'' Crowder said. ``There was an incident in NFL football last year where somebody talked junk, somebody retaliated and both of them got equally fined.''
Crowder's first reference, of course, was to the aftermath of Thursday's Oregon-Boise State game when Boise State's Byron Hout taunted Oregon's LeGarrette Blount and Blount responded with a right cross.
Blount was suspended for the rest of his senior season. Crowder's second reference was to his go-round with New England's Matt Light last season after Crowder delivered a choice piece of trash talk (and not about the score, which was 41-28 New England in the fourth quarter).
Light replied by ripping Crowder's helmet off, pulling his dreadlocks and slapping the top of his head while taking a forearm to the face in response. Crowder and Light were fined $15,000 each.
He did concentrate on afterwords; if you will remember it was Peterson grabbing Hout which distracted him so Blount could land his sucker punch.
Like I said before, it wasn't right, but it wasn't even really talking trash, it was asking a question about Blount's comments before, that they "owe Boise State an *** whoopin'". He just asked him how the *** whoopin' went for him, got distracted by a pissed-off Peterson and got nailed.
way to blow your chance at the NFL
Nobody said he shouldn't get punished. In fact Peterson said he would be disciplined.
He just shouldn't get suspended. Players don't get suspended for taunting.
